Hangang River Mart Yeouido: Instant Ramen Fun with Kids
Experience instant ramen fun at Yeouido's Hangang River Mart! Choose diverse, kid-friendly options and cook your own meal by the Han River. Perfect for families in Seoul.
You've made it all the way to the Han River, and heading home without a little something extra just feels wrong, especially when those hunger pangs start to hit.
What comes to mind at a moment like this? Instant ramen, of course!
Just recently, after a cruise in Yeouido with my child, we simply couldn't resist the allure.
There's just something about enjoying instant ramen by the Han River. It's a quintessential Seoul experience!
The spot we visited was Hangang River Mart, conveniently located right by the Yeouido ferry dock.
Initially, I wondered if there would be enough ramen options suitable for my child. But once we stepped inside, choosing just one became the real challenge – there was an incredible variety of ramen!
Find it Easily: Look for the CU Convenience Store!
Searching for "Hangang River Mart" by name on mapping apps might be tricky, as it’s often listed differently.
📍 CU Hangang Bus Yeouido Branch
1F, Hangang Bus Yeouido Dock, 338 Yeouidong-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul
The store we visited is located right next to the CU Hangang Bus Yeouido Branch. For easy navigation, just search for "CU Hangang Bus Yeouido Branch" on Google Maps!

Look for the red sign with the adorable Raccoon character (from the popular Neoguri ramen brand) out front, and you'll spot it in no time!

Choosing Ramen with the Kids Was Half the Fun!
The moment you step inside, you're greeted by walls absolutely packed with instant ramen!

While you'll find familiar favorites like Shin Ramyun, there were so many brands and flavors I'd never seen before. It was genuinely fun exploring them one by one with my child.

Perhaps because this spot is popular with international tourists, they don't just stock super spicy ramen!
There was a fantastic selection of non-spicy ramen options too.
When you're visiting the Han River with kids for instant ramen, this is arguably the most important factor, right?! Adults can usually pick anything, but for kids, you always have to check the spice level. Here, with so many choices, my child could easily pick exactly what they wanted.
More Than Just Ramen: Snacks, Drinks, and Ice Cream Too!
With so much ramen on display, it's easy to think Hangang River Mart is *only* about noodles, but that's not the case at all! They also had a great selection of drinks, snacks, and, of course, ice cream – always a tough one for kids to pass up!

This makes it a perfect stop with kids when you're looking for a quick bite or snack by the Han River. For my child, enjoying ramen followed by an ice cream felt like the ultimate perfect outing!
Our main goal that day was ramen, so we each picked our favorites and headed straight to the counter.
Han River Instant Ramen Price: Around ~$3-$4
When I visited, the Han River instant ramen was priced at around ~$3-$4.
Compared to buying a packet of ramen at a regular convenience store, there's naturally a price difference. However, considering you get to cook it yourself in a special instant pot and enjoy it with a stunning view of the Han River, it's an experience well worth the cost!

Once you pay for your ramen, you'll receive a special disposable container to use with the instant cooking machine. And this, for my child, was the most exciting part!
It was time to cook our own ramen.
The Ramen Machine Was More Fascinating Than Eating!
We headed over to the instant cooking station, where several machines were lined up. Even if it gets busy, having multiple machines makes the process quick and easy.

We placed the ramen in the container, put it on the machine, and started cooking! As soon as the water began to flow and boil, my child's attention was completely captivated.
Watching the water dispense automatically and the noodles bubble right before their eyes was absolutely mesmerizing to them. Funny how they never pay attention when mom cooks ramen at home!

The whole process of choosing ramen at the Han River and then cooking it themselves on the machine was a fantastic experience in itself for my child.

So, if you're thinking of heading to Yeouido for some Han River instant ramen with your kids, consider it less of just a snack stop and more of a fun, mini cultural experience!

Plenty of Outdoor Tables Made Eating with Kids Easy!
Once our ramen was ready, we headed outside. I was so glad to see plenty of outdoor tables available, making it super easy to find a spot to sit and eat.
When you're out with kids, trying to find a place to sit while juggling hot bowls of ramen can be a hassle. We comfortably found our seats and started digging in right away.

And honestly, no matter how much I think about it,
Han River instant ramen just tastes better when eaten outdoors!
With a gentle evening breeze blowing and a warm bowl of ramen in front of the Han River, it's a completely different flavor experience compared to eating it at home.
Han River Ramen: Truly the Sweetest Delight!
If we had just gone home after our cruise, I think something would have felt a little incomplete. But after enjoying a delicious bowl of instant ramen, it felt like the perfect end to our day's itinerary.

My child said the ramen cooking machine was the most fun, while I simply cherished the taste of ramen enjoyed right by the Han River. It might seem like a small thing, but these simple moments are often the ones that create lasting memories.
