You don't need to travel far to a water park

to enjoy a swimming pool and a huge water slide for free.

We're talking about the Hanbat Arboretum Children's Water Park!

There's no entrance fee like at a typical water park,

and you can even use the large water slide for free,

which is why it's a spot with fierce reservation competition every year.

The Hanbat Arboretum Children's Swimming Pool is

a water play area set up beneath the moving shelter at Expo Citizen's Plaza.

Use the Hanbat Arboretum parking lot (3 hours free)

While the parking lot is quite spacious,

it can get crowded on summer vacation weekends with visitors also going to the arboretum, art museum, and arts center.

Parking fees are as follows:

First 3 hours free

After 3 hours, ~$0 per 15 minutes

Maximum daily charge: ~$8

Paid operating hours: 8 AM to 12 AM

Considering the swimming pool usage time, travel, and changing time,

you might exceed 3 hours, so it's a good idea to check beforehand.

The operating period for 2026 is as follows:

Session 1: 10:00 AM ~ 1:00 PM

Lunch Break: 1:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM

Session 2: 2:00 PM ~ 5:00 PM

✔️ 45 minutes operation / 15 minutes break

✅ Admission Fee:

Free

The facility is closed every Monday

for facility inspection, water replacement, and water quality management.

✅ Eligibility:

Children and guardians / Adults and teenagers 13 years or older cannot enter alone

✅ Usage Guidelines:

✔️ Priority admission for those with reservations

✔️ Capacity of 900 people per session

✔️ Sequential admission if capacity is exceeded

✔️ All visitors must exit after each session ends

✔️ Re-queue for Session 2 if you wish to use it again

The Hanbat Arboretum Children's Swimming Pool operates

not on a walk-in basis, but rather by visiting after making an online advance reservation.

Reservations for 2026 open every Monday at 11 AM for the current week's admission tickets.

The reservation process is straightforward.

First, head to the Hanbat Arboretum Children's Water Play Area reservation page. Then, simply pick your desired date and session (morning or afternoon). Fill in your name, phone number, and the number of people, and you're all set to complete your booking!

On the day of your visit, just confirm your reservation details and step right in!

Popular dates, especially on weekends and during school holidays,

can fill up super fast once reservations open.

Weekends, especially, tend to sell out in a flash!

🎫 Ticket Distribution

Session 1: 09:30 AM onwards

Session 2: 01:30 PM onwards

※ Tickets are only distributed once all members of your reservation have arrived.

※ If you're more than 30 minutes late past your entry time, your reservation will automatically be canceled.

🎟️ No-Show Ticket Distribution

Session 1: 10:30 AM onwards

Session 2: 02:30 PM onwards

No worries if you can't snag a reservation!

If there are no-shows, you might still be able to get in on-site for any remaining spots!

If the maximum capacity is reached, guests will be allowed in sequentially as others depart.

Swimwear (like a swimsuit or rash guard) and a hat are absolutely essential.

Bringing a mat is a smart move,

you can set it up around the water play area,

giving the kids a spot to come and go,

a perfect little break spot and a convenient place to keep your belongings.

Aqua shoes aren't strictly necessary,

but last year, I found myself stepping on various things around the area.

Crocs or aqua shoes are definitely recommended.

Please note: Aqua shoes are NOT allowed inside the pool itself.

Even though life jackets are provided for free on-site,

there might not be enough sizes to perfectly fit every child.

So, if your child has a personal life jacket they use often and fits them well, it's definitely more comfortable to bring it along.

Tubes and water toys

may be restricted due to crowding and safety concerns.

Eating any food or drinks inside the water play area is strictly prohibited.

Make sure to enjoy your meals outside the water play area,

and then you can re-enter to continue the fun!

Conveniently, there's a snack bar right next to the Hanbat Arboretum,

where many visitors grab cup noodles or simple snacks.

Alternatively,

you might spot people ordering delivery food and enjoying their meals around the arboretum area.

The Hanbat Arboretum Children's Swimming Pool

offers a variety of swimming pools,

making it perfect for kids from toddlers to elementary school age.

When it was open last year,

pools were available with depths tailored to children's height and age:

approximately 70cm, 90cm, and 120cm.

Plus, kids' absolute favorite,

a large water slide, was also in operation.

With separate pools of varying depths,

toddlers and elementary schoolers didn't crowd into the same area.

It was great because kids could enjoy themselves based on their height and water play skill level.

Amenities included:

temporary changing rooms / temporary shower facilities / restrooms / rest areas / lifeguards / life jacket rental

and more.

At the temporary changing rooms, you can change clothes before and after playing in the water.

However, it can get crowded during peak hours,

so it's a good idea to have your kids wear their swimsuits or rash guards beforehand when you visit.

While there are temporary shower facilities, they don't provide warm water,

so think of them as a way to simply rinse off any water or debris from your body.

After a quick rinse on-site,

it's best to head home for a proper shower.
