2026 Han River Drone Show at Samseong Haema-ji Park: Best Views & Tips
Catch the 2026 Han River Drone Show from Samseong Haema-ji Park! Get insider tips on views, seating, and how to make your visit smooth and enjoyable.
I caught the Han River Drone Show on 09/12/2026 from Samseong Haema-ji Park, and it was quite an experience!
While Ttukseom Hangang Park is the official venue, we opted for the opposite bank due to the expected crowds – and it paid off!
Spoiler alert: from our spot, the view was absolutely fantastic, with no obstructions from people or trees. Plus, we got to enjoy the stunning Han River nightscape – totally worth it!
Since we were across the river, the drone-formed words appeared mirrored, and we couldn't hear any of the show's music. And let's not forget the unexpected challenge: finding a restroom!
If you're considering Samseong Haema-ji Park for the drone show, I'll share all the details: actual views, timing, seating, and transportation tips.

Arrival & Seating
We got off at the Cheongdam Station/Gyeonggi High School bus stop.
We arrived at the bus stop around 7:30 PM! It's about a 5-minute walk to the park, but it's an uphill climb, and we stopped at a convenience store for some wine, so we actually arrived around 7:45 PM!
But when we got there,
all the park benches were completely full when we arrived. Ugh!
However, there was still plenty of space for picnic mats or
standing areas along the railing. As luck would have it, some people sitting in front of us started to leave,
so we luckily snagged some seats around 7:50 PM.
They had originally come for a walk and only coincidentally found out about the drone show.
They said they'd been sitting for about an hour and were leaving because the show hadn't started yet.
We told them, “It starts at 8:30 PM!” but they just coolly headed home. Still, it was our lucky day! 🐰🍀
Another seat next to us opened up around 8:10 PM. This was truly a stroke of luck, so
if you want to guarantee a seat, I'd recommend getting there early, around 6:30 PM.

We used the existing tables and chairs in the park, and put them back in their original spots after the show!
* If you can't find a table or chair, the gazebo also offers a great view!
Actual View

The view itself was truly satisfying!
The drones were perfectly visible without any obstructions from people or trees,
and the combined view of the Han River and the city lights across the water was truly captivating.
On 09/12/2026, the show had a baseball theme, so we saw a variety of formations, including team mascots, baseball broadcast screens, players, and even the Seoul City logo!
However, since we were on the opposite side, the words formed by the drones appeared mirrored.
Despite this, they clearly designed the show with the back view in mind, so it wasn't just a "back of the head" view at all, which was a huge plus!

Another thing to note is that we couldn't hear any of the show's music.
So, we ended up playing a YouTube live stream of the event on our phones,
which was incredibly helpful for understanding the progression of the show – like, "Ah, so this is what's starting now!"
I was satisfied because the view was my priority, but if the music is important to your experience, this is a significant difference to consider.
Restrooms & Food
Seriously, use the restroom beforehand!

We used the Cheongdam Station restrooms after the show, and honestly,
it felt surprisingly far. Ugh.
You have to walk downhill from the park to the station, and even once you're at the station, the restrooms aren't immediately obvious, making it feel like an endless journey inside.
If I were to do it again, I'd definitely use the restroom before heading up to the park.
The Cheongdam Road Park public restroom, which often appears in searches, is currently closed for construction.

The same goes for food and drinks!
We stopped at a convenience store on the way up to buy some wine, but
if you want snacks or drinks to enjoy while waiting for the show,
I highly recommend grabbing them from a nearby convenience store like E-Mart24 or CU beforehand!
Once you're up in the park, you won't want to trek back down.

Going Home
We packed up and left promptly at 8:45 PM, right after the show ended.
Since we headed out immediately, it wasn't as crowded as I expected on our way down.
The walk to Cheongdam Station takes about 5-7 minutes.
We didn't take the subway from Cheongdam Station;
instead, we exited the station and took a bus home.
We took the bus both ways this time, and I always prefer
public transportation like buses or subways over driving on event days like this.
Overall Review! Recommend/Not Recommend
👍 Recommend
From where we sat, there were no obstructions, so I was really happy with the visibility.
The ambiance of watching the drone show with the Han River and city skyline as a backdrop was truly special!
🤔 Hmm... Maybe not for everyone...
When we arrived at 7:45 PM, there were no seats available, and we only got lucky when some early birds left mid-way.
So, my conclusion is: the view from Samseong Haema-ji Park was a definite thumbs-up!
If you want a guaranteed seat, aim to arrive at least two hours early.
Handle restrooms and snacks before you head up the hill.
That's pretty much it!
Enjoy the show!
