Hamdeok Beach Overview & Location
Located about a 40-minute drive (roughly 20 miles) from Jeju International Airport, Hamdeok Beach offers stunning views of its signature emerald waters alongside the majestic Seoubong Peak.

It's widely considered one of the most popular and iconic beaches in Jeju City.

What makes it truly special? Hamdeok Beach was the first beach in Jeju designated for pet-friendly swimming! The section of the beach near the entrance to Seoubong Peak is known as 'Hamdog Beach,' where you and your furry friend can enjoy a refreshing dip in the ocean together.
The surrounding area is also fantastic, with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and well-maintained walking paths. You might even catch a lively flea market or night market, perfect for a leisurely stroll and some local browsing.

Entrance
As you exit the parking area, you're immediately greeted by the dazzling white sand and shimmering emerald waters.
The combination of tall palm trees, pristine white sand, and the vibrant emerald sea creates that quintessential Jeju postcard-perfect scene. It's truly a photo opportunity right from the moment you arrive!

Recommended Time & My Experience
With Seoubong Peak situated to the east of Hamdeok Beach, it's perfect for combining a light hike up the 'oreum' (volcanic cone) with your beach visit.

Midway up Seoubong, you'll find a grassy park, ideal for a leisurely stroll. Depending on the season, you might see vibrant canola flowers or swaying reeds, all set against a truly magnificent panoramic view of Hamdeok Beach below.

In the central area of the beach, you'll find the popular Delmoondo Cafe, along with a night market and spaces for busking performances. In the evenings, especially during the fall months (like November 2026), flea markets often pop up, making it a great spot to browse for souvenirs and grab some delicious snacks.

I visited in the late afternoon, around 5 PM, just as the sun was beginning to dip below the horizon. The Hamdeok Beach sunset was simply stunning, painting the sky in gorgeous shades of orange and creating a serene, unforgettable atmosphere.

As you walk towards Delmoondo Cafe, you'll find "Insaengnecut" photo booths, perfect for capturing some fun souvenir photos of your trip.

Walk a little further, and you'll discover a charming Jeju stone wall photo zone – an ideal spot for those Instagram-worthy, artsy shots.

Combining a leisurely walk, photo opportunities, and exploring the local offerings, you can easily spend about 1-2 hours enjoying everything Hamdeok Beach has to offer.

According to an article, visiting around 5 PM, close to sunset, allowed for enjoying a beautiful sunset painted in orange hues. It's recommended to take your time and enjoy it as a leisurely 1-2 hour course, including walking, taking photos, and sightseeing.
