While foreigners can purchase tickets on-site,
online tickets are generally required for all visitors, as on-site purchases are limited.

Although all sessions are currently sold out,
there are still a few ways you can experience
the Gyeongbokgung Night Opening.
Insider Tip for Free Entry — Hanbok Wearers

Visitors wearing traditional Korean attire (Hanbok) can gain
immediate free entry on-site without prior online reservations.
This is also managed separately from the 3,000 daily online tickets,
meaning even if online reservations are completely sold out,
Hanbok wearers can still enter directly at the gate.

⚠️ Important Note
Hanbok wearers must meet the free admission guidelines
set by the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center.
Simply wearing traditional-style clothing does not automatically grant free entry.

👕 Hanbok Rental
You can rent Hanbok for the day at one of the many Hanbok rental shops
located near Gyeongbokgung Palace, especially around Anguk Station and Gyeongbokgung Station.
Taking photos in Hanbok at Gyeonghoeru Pavilion creates stunning memories.
Instead of struggling for tickets, renting a Hanbok and capturing that perfect shot is highly recommended!
How to Snag Cancellation Tickets

Since all sessions are already sold out,
try your luck with cancellation tickets.
People tend to cancel tickets right before cancellation fees apply.
Your chances of finding cancellation tickets increase significantly
between 11:00 PM and 12:00 AM (midnight), 1-2 days before your desired visit.
Even more cancellation tickets tend to become available
when the weather forecast isn't ideal.
Suggested Route & Photo Spots

Since it's a free-roaming experience,
planning your route in advance can help you make the most of your visit.

Recommended Route
Enter Gwanghwamun Gate → Heungnyemun Gate → Geunjeongjeon (front view at night)
→ Gyeonghoeru Pavilion (best reflection photo spot)
→ Sajeongjeon & Gangnyeongjeon → Gyotaejeon & Amisan

The reflection shot at Gyeonghoeru Pond is at its prime
between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM.
This window, just before complete darkness settles and the lights fully illuminate, offers the most beautiful photos.

Sujeongjeon Traditional Performance 'Sound Seeds'
✔ This is a free traditional Korean music performance held at Sujeongjeon in Gyeongbokgung.
✔ However, a separate online reservation is required in advance.
✔ The Gyeongbokgung admission fee is separate.

For the Gyeongbokgung Night Opening 2026,
even if you missed out on tickets,
you can still make it happen with cancellation tickets or free Hanbok entry.

The combination of wearing Hanbok and getting free on-site entry
is a highly recommended option for great photos and a memorable experience.
Have a wonderful night exploring Seoul!
