As September approaches, domestic travel options abound. While regional festivals are a fantastic choice, Seoul offers the enchanting night tours of Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces.
I had the incredible experience of attending the Changdeokgung Moonlight Tour a couple of years ago and was absolutely captivated. This year, I'm planning to apply for both the Gyeongbokgung Starlight Tour and the Changdeokgung Moonlight Tour!

The latter half of the Changdeokgung Moonlight Tour is available for booking on Ticketlink.
Please note that applying is a raffle entry for a booking right, not a confirmed reservation.

With only 28 participants per session, accommodating a total of just 168 people daily, competition for spots is incredibly fierce.
Its popularity grows each year, with more applicants vying for a chance. When I went, the autumn dates with good weather were already fully booked, so I ended up experiencing the Moonlight Tour in winter, right before it concluded for the season.
Initially, I wondered, 'Why is it so expensive?'
These are places I visit frequently throughout the year, so I questioned if a night tour was really necessary. But once I participated, I completely understood why people love it.
Each participant received thoughtful preparations, and the quality of the performances was incredibly high. I left feeling it was well worth it, not regretting a single penny.
If given the chance every year, I'd love to experience it again and again.

Both events will be conducted via a lottery application system through Ticketlink. If you win the lottery, you will be able to purchase tickets during the priority reservation period.
The lottery application period is from August 14, 2026, at 2 PM to August 20, 2026, at 2 PM. Winners will be announced after 5 PM on August 24. General sales for remaining tickets will begin at 2 PM on August 28.
The price per person for the Changdeokgung Moonlight Tour is ~$21. The number of participants per session is 28, and only a total of 168 people can be accommodated per day.
