If you're a crested gecko enthusiast, or even just curious about these charming reptiles, chances are you've heard of Geckos Republic. This hidden gem in Seoul is a go-to for many pet owners, and it quickly became our must-visit destination when we decided to upgrade the homes for our beloved crested geckos, Choco and Cookie.

My kids had been diligently saving their allowance, excitedly planning to buy new homes for Choco and Cookie. So, when we embarked on a family trip to Seoul, visiting Geckos Republic was high on our itinerary. We were ready to make the big purchase! However, as we searched for the address on the day we planned to go, we realized something awful: it was their regular closing day!

Just in case, I decided to call the store. To our surprise, the owner happened to be there for some inventory work! When I explained that we had traveled all the way from Gwangju specifically for this visit, they incredibly offered to wait for us. Talk about amazing customer service!

Inside, we were greeted by beautifully set up gecko habitats, complete with attractive lighting. They truly looked like little natural worlds!

The first floor of the building houses a cozy coffee shop, offering a pleasant spot to relax. The main pet supply store, however, is located on the second floor.

The store itself is quite spacious and thoughtfully decorated, creating an inviting atmosphere for both pets and their people.

They had an impressive array of supplies, all neatly displayed and easy to browse.

We were inspired by the naturalistic vivarium setups we saw, envisioning a similar, lush environment for our geckos.

My second child was absolutely thrilled, exploring all the different items and displays. It's truly a fun spot for kids who love animals!

We also had the chance to admire various types of crested geckos and their beautifully decorated enclosures.

The breeding facilities were also meticulously maintained and impressive.

Our top priority for purchase was this specific backscreen. We had bought an Exoterra glass terrarium measuring approximately 8x8x12 inches (20x20x30 cm), and we knew this backscreen would be the easiest way to create a fantastic setup. It fit perfectly!

After picking out our favorite design from the various options, the owner immediately helped us with the setup.

Simply attach the backscreen to the glass terrarium, and you're done! While you can order backscreens online, seeing them in person and choosing the perfect one is always the best option.

If you want to further decorate your terrarium, you can choose from a wide selection of ornaments. The owner was incredibly generous, offering us several complimentary items and even a discount! The Exoterra glass terrarium itself was more affordable than prices we found online, about ~$15 cheaper than similar items in other regions. Amazing value!

Back home, we set up the new terrariums on our kids' desks. This is Choco, our first child's crested gecko, settling into his new digs.

Choco quickly adapted to his new home, exploring every nook and cranny.

And here's Cookie, our second child's crested gecko. He's already loving his new space, climbing to the ceiling and exploring all the levels.

Cookie is clearly thriving and enjoying his upgraded home.
