Do you love Gaudi?

After my trip to Barcelona,

I completely fell in love with Gaudi's work.

Since then, I've always kept an eye out

for anything related to him.

This time, with the news of a Gaudi exhibition opening in Seoul

to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death,

I grabbed a ticket and went!

01 Tips for Entering the Gaudi Exhibition

I visited a little after 6 PM

on a weekday.

I had pre-booked my ticket as an early bird through the FEVER website.

No app download is needed;

your ticket is sent via KakaoTalk.

A QR code appeared, so I thought

I could just walk in, but you actually need to

exchange it for a physical ticket

at the ticket booth.​

In front of the ticket office,

there are also lockers where you can

store any heavy belongings in an empty locker.

Outside food and drinks are not allowed,

so using the lockers is recommended.

The Gaudi exhibition in Seoul is

open until 8 PM, so I imagine

many people visit after work.

If you're visiting in the evening,

I recommend heading to the

photo zone on the right side of the ticket office first.

We finished seeing the exhibition around 6 PM,

and it was already quite dark outside.

What's more, when the entrance closing time

of 7 PM had just passed,

the photo zone entrance was also blocked off.

If you're planning to visit the Gaudi exhibition, please keep this in mind!

02 An Exhibition Spanning from the 1st to 5th Floors

"Gaudi Reborn in Seoul"

was quite a bit larger than I expected!

The exhibition spans from the 1st to the 5th floors,

and the viewing method was to take the elevator up to the 5th floor,

then follow the arrows and descend one floor at a time.

There were staff members stationed throughout,

so navigating the route wasn't difficult,

and they were very kind in guiding us! 😀

I'll skip the detailed explanations for each area 😉

If you love Gaudi,

I highly recommend going to see it for yourself!

Even when I traveled to Barcelona,

and visited a place similar to a Gaudi Museum in Park Güell,

this was a different way to enjoy Gaudi's work.

While most of the exhibits were replicas,

there was also an amazing pair of authentic 3D glasses!

Beyond just reading text,

there were plenty of interactive activities like building an arched structure yourself

or coloring a lizard.

It seems like it would be a lot of fun to go with kids too!

03 Barcelona: A City I Want to Visit Again

To be honest, when I travel,

I rarely look up information beforehand.

(They call me a total 'P' type, for the spontaneous travelers out there!)

Even when I first traveled to Barcelona,

I didn't know about Gaudi! 😅

It was only when I went there and started exploring different things

that I first learned about Gaudi,

and seeing places like Casa Batlló, Casa Milà, and Park Güell,

I fell in love with Gaudi...

Even when I visited Sagrada Familia,

I didn't even know Gaudi's tomb was there! 😅

Ignorance is bliss

vs

Knowledge is power, and it wins!

Completely captivated by Gaudi's genius,

Barcelona has become my absolute favorite city.

Still, I wondered, "Could it be as interesting as seeing the originals?"

but this Gaudi exhibition

was quite fascinating to experience! 🤗

With the completion of the Jesus Tower at Sagrada Familia this year,

if I get to visit Barcelona again,

my next goal is to properly see all the buildings Gaudi created.

At the end, there's also a souvenir shop,

so take your time to browse after you've seen the whole exhibition!

Q. Is parking available at the Gaudi exhibition?

Parking space is limited,

so please use nearby public parking lots.

Q. Can I get a discount for the Gaudi exhibition?

Currently, there's a 30% discount for Chuseok,

and admission is available until September 30th (Wed).

(Closed on Chuseok Day)

Q. How does it compare to the Gaudi Museum in Barcelona?

Of course, there are differences in scale and the number of artworks,

but with plenty of media art and interactive installations,

you can definitely enjoy a unique experience here.
