With rising exchange rates and fuel surcharges,

I bet many of you are planning to travel domestically this summer.

Just about three years ago, solo accommodations in Seoul

were almost nonexistent, so I often had to pay more for a room designed for two people.

But these days, quite a few have popped up!

This time, the solo accommodation I discovered in Seoul is

It was a quick one-minute walk from the bus stop,

and with a Daiso on the first floor,

it was super convenient to grab any necessities!

Head up to the 6th floor of the Daiso building,

and you'll find Kanso Stay, your perfect solo accommodation in Seoul.

Contactless check-in is available,

and during desk hours,

you can also check in with a staff member.

Check-out is super easy too—just drop your key, and you're done!

As these solo accommodations and capsule hotels are popular with international travelers,

there was plenty of information available in English.

Of course, Korean information is available too!

My Review of This Solo Accommodation in Seoul

Having experienced capsule hotels in Japan and various other countries,

I was really curious to see what a capsule hotel in Korea would be like!

During check-in, they let me choose between a lower or upper bunk.

I guess that might be because it was a weekday and not fully booked.

What really stood out as advantages of Korean capsule hotels were features like

the personal lockers, individual passcodes, and CCTV surveillance.

Inside the locker, you'll find two towels, slippers, a shower towel,

one 500ml bottle of water, and earplugs.

The locker isn't big enough for a full-sized suitcase;

it's more backpack-sized.

So, you can securely store your valuables in the locker,

and keep your larger luggage stowed underneath!

Naturally, there were separate spaces for men and women,

and this here is the women's capsule area.

Isn't the interior design just beautifully Korean-inspired?

Overall, the warm, wood-toned

interior gave off a truly luxurious vibe.

It was fascinating how the capsule's interior space truly addressed all the little things I've found lacking in other capsule hotels abroad.

Check out the locker size right inside the capsule!

It's super spacious, easily fitting 2-3 backpacks, which means you can securely store valuables like your laptop right by your side.

Plus, you can even set your own password!

There's even a hanger for your clothes!

And below that, there's a little extra space.

Trust me, when you've stayed in capsule hotels with just a mattress, you'll know how essential even this small area can be!

Plus, since it's a new spot for solo travelers in Seoul, you can count on it being sparkling clean – a wonderful bonus!

There's even a USB charging port available!

I stayed in a standard room, but just so you know, the premium rooms have the same fantastic layout, they're just a bit more spacious!

When it's time to sleep, with the door closed and double blinds, I could achieve a complete blackout even before the main lights were turned off – perfect for a restful night!

Shared Restrooms & Showers

They're conveniently separated by gender within their own spaces, so you can feel completely comfortable walking around in your pajamas!

There's a hairdryer available, but no curling iron, so if you need one to perfect your look, make sure to bring your own!

There are three immaculate shower rooms!

They're cleaned super regularly, so they were always spotless.

It's always a funny thing about capsule hotels, both domestically and internationally: even though there are far fewer showers than guests, I've never had to wait or miss a shower because of availability.

(Maybe I just shower at odd hours...?)

Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are all provided, so you'll just need to pack your facial cleanser, body lotion,

+ and don't forget your toothbrush and toothpaste!

But seriously, even if you forget anything, there's a Daiso on the first floor where you can grab essentials for cheap, so feel free to travel spontaneously!

What's the best way to wrap up a solo adventure in Seoul? Grabbing some delicious late-night snacks and enjoying them with a refreshing drink back at your cozy accommodation, of course!

The lounge is open 24/7, so it's always there for you.

You'll often find fellow travelers quietly working on their laptops or enjoying a casual bite to eat.

Enjoy unlimited capsule coffee and ice anytime you like – what a treat!
