Flat Iron London Soho Review: Best Budget Steak
Discover Flat Iron Soho, London's ultimate budget-friendly steakhouse. Enjoy a delicious £14 ($18) steak, mouthwatering sides, and a sweet surprise at the end!
London is notoriously expensive, but I managed to find an incredibly budget-friendly steakhouse that came highly recommended.
Flat Iron Soho, located right in the heart of London, is a true local gem that attracts far more Londoners than tourists.

Situated in the bustling center of Soho, it's just a short walk from Fortnum & Mason. It's the perfect spot to grab lunch after watching the Changing of the Guard and doing some souvenir shopping!

Steak Restaurant in Soho | Flat Iron
We walked in without a reservation and luckily got seated right away. However, since queues are almost guaranteed here, I highly recommend booking in advance through their official website!

The restaurant spans the ground floor and a basement level, and we were seated downstairs. The basement area is a bit cozy and compact, which can feel slightly tight.
The ground floor looked much more spacious and comfortable, but since we were walk-ins, we took whatever was available.

The signature Flat Iron steak is just £14! Finding a decent steak in London for under $19 is an absolute steal. They also offer a great selection of wines, beers, and craft cocktails.

They kick things off with a complimentary mug of popcorn, which is a fun touch!
We ordered the Truffle Mac & Cheese (£5.70 / ~$7) and two steaks (£28 / ~$36).
With some fries, a sauce, lemonade, beer, and a 12.5% service charge, our total came to £56.39 (around $72).

To keep prices budget-friendly, the steak presentation is quite rustic and simple. But don't let that fool you—the meat was incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor.

The sides were equally outstanding. The Truffle Mac & Cheese is an absolute must-try!

While the 12.5% service charge adds up, the base price of the steak is so reasonable. If you stick to the essentials, you can easily enjoy a fantastic lunch or dinner for under $51.

Once you settle the bill, don't forget to take the cute mini cleaver token given to you and exchange it at the front counter for a complimentary ice cream!

They will ask if you want it in a cone or a cup. We opted for the cup to make it easier to eat on the go.
It turned out to be a rich, gelato-style vanilla soft serve topped with freshly shaved chocolate. It tasted like it came straight from a gourmet dessert parlor!
Flat Iron has 16 locations across London, so you can easily fit this budget-friendly dining experience into your travel itinerary. Highly recommended for anyone visiting London in 2026!
