Our family has officially turned into night owls!
Just the other day, we went on a cruise that departs at 10 PM—
the magical Han River Starlight Cruise.
Every time we visit Hangang Park,
Melody would beg us to go on a boat ride, singing "Let's ride the ferry!"
And she absolutely loved every single minute of it!
A Summer Night at Yeouido Hangang Park
The weather lately has been absolutely intense, hasn't it?
With the heat being so unbearable during the day,
I couldn't even dream of taking a child
outside for any activities!
But once the sun goes down,
sitting in a wide-open space like Hangang Park
and feeling the cool river breeze
becomes the perfect little healing escape for both kids and parents!
Here is our happy summer night review of
the Yeouido E-Land Starlight Cruise
at Yeouido Hangang Park! Let's dive in~

If you're taking the E-Land Cruise,
be sure to park in Yeouido Hangang Park Parking Lot 1!
When you park in Parking Lot 1,
you'll easily spot the grand and brightly lit
E-Land Cruise terminal.
It's impossible to miss,
making it super easy to find.
Right in front of it is the ticket office.
Even if you bought your tickets online beforehand,
you still need to fill out a boarding declaration form here,
so this is a mandatory stop for everyone!
The boarding declaration form
needs to be filled out carefully (one per group).
Simply submit it at the ticket window along with IDs for the adults
to exchange it for your actual physical tickets.
It's really quick and simple to fill out,
so just one representative from your group can go and handle it!
While filling out the boarding form at the ticket office before boarding,
make sure to register your vehicle license plate.
This will grant you free parking for the day,
which is a fantastic perk!
If you're driving with kids,
don't forget to get this registered at the ticket booth!
Starlight Cruise: Departing Daily at 10 PM
Always ranked as one of the top things to do in Seoul,
the Han River Cruise is a must-visit!
Believe it or not, E-Land Cruise
is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year!
When we arrived at the terminal,
we saw lots of lovely couples on dates, but we were also surprised to see
so many families holding their kids' hands, plus travelers from all over the world!
It was a lively, wonderful mix.
It really felt like a beloved,
iconic landmark of Seoul.
The E-Land Starlight Cruise
departs daily at exactly 10 PM, takes you on a beautiful 50-minute journey,
and brings you safely back to the dock.
We wondered if 10 PM was a bit too late, but absolutely not!
As soon as we stepped on board, the stifling daytime heat vanished,
replaced by a wonderfully cool and refreshing Han River breeze.
Our little one's eyes lit up with sheer joy!
It is the perfect way to beat the tropical night heat
during the peak of summer.

Since departure was at 10:00, we headed over around 9:45 PM,
and there was already a queue forming.
But the ship is incredibly spacious and roomy,
so boarding a little later won't ruin your view at all.
Feel free to take your time and arrive relaxed!
Just before boarding at the dock,
there is a designated stroller storage area.
So if you're traveling with little ones, you can push the stroller right up to the boat. Our daughter Melody was riding her kick scooter earlier, but we safely stored it here
and boarded comfortably hands-free!
A Feast for Your Eyes and Ears: The Starlight Cruise
Once boarding was complete and the clock struck the hour,
the boat slowly cast off from the dock
and began to glide smoothly into the water.
And just like that, our Han River night tour officially began!
As we sailed along, the onboard announcements
shared interesting stories about the major landmarks
catching our eyes along the way,
like the National Assembly Building and Bamseom Island.
Listening to these fun facts
while floating along the calm river made the experience even more engaging.
It was surprisingly fun, and even my daughter
was completely hooked and listening intently.
Just look at how incredibly excited
our elementary schooler Melody was!
Another amazing highlight of the Starlight Cruise
is the sweet live acoustic concert
performed right inside the cruise cabin.
Relaxing in the cool, air-conditioned cabin,
with the sparkling Han River night views through the floor-to-ceiling windows as a backdrop,
the beautiful guitar tunes and the artist's soulful vocals filled the room.
They even played Disney soundtracks
which kids absolutely adore,
and Melody was in absolute heaven!
Onboard Conveniences & Photo Ops
There's a convenience store right inside the boat,
so the kids can grab some snacks
while the adults can enjoy a cold can of beer! haha
They also have some fun photo props,
which are great for taking memorable pictures.
There is an indoor cabin on the second floor,
and a spacious main cabin on the first floor.
Thanks to the gorgeous Seoul nightscapes,
our family made some truly beautiful memories.
The 50 minutes spent on the water,
gazing at Seoul's glittering skyline,
was far more spectacular and beautiful than I had ever expected.
It was the perfect way to beat the midsummer night heat
and soak in the urban romance as a family.
I highly recommend this cruise experience!
We actually made a promise to come back
around late September when the weather cools down.
We plan to arrive a bit earlier next time
to catch the sunset cruise course
and watch the Han River turn into a canvas of crimson.
