It's been quite a while since my last post!
I almost forgot how to write one.
While my posts have been scarce, my travels certainly haven't! The main difference now compared to before is my approach. Previously, I'd meticulously carve out time to visit all the popular tourist spots, and then squeeze in my personal favorites too – because I just couldn't compromise on my own tastes!
These days, I've learned to compromise a bit. More often than not, I find myself thinking, "Eh, I'll just go next time."
This latest trip was just a brief stopover in New Delhi, en route to another destination. In the past, I would have packed my schedule, exploring every nearby attraction and booking a full tour. But this time? I simply settled into a cafe and stayed there for a good long while. Of course, the view was fantastic, and I was eager to catch the night view.
Even so, the old me would have at least done a quick peek at Qutb Minar, the New Delhi landmark right in front of me. But I didn't. Honestly, the view from the cafe was far superior, and I avoided all the hassle. As a travel blogger, it might have been better to go, snap photos of ticket prices, map out the flow, and share tips. But sometimes, a relaxed afternoon is just what the doctor ordered.

Qutb Minar

This is it – Qutb Minar. It's often listed among the top attractions and places to visit in New Delhi. While there are certainly other incredible sites across Delhi, if you're looking for something close to Delhi Airport, this is your best bet due to its proximity. You'll need to purchase an admission ticket to enter, and I've heard there's quite a bit to explore inside.

This lovely spot is an Italian restaurant located right near Qutb Minar. The cafe itself has a fantastic ambiance, and their cocktails and appetizers weren't bad at all. Perhaps it was because I went in without high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. (Though I wouldn't call them mind-blowing).
I visited in the afternoon, and it was wonderfully quiet, which I loved. Since it's close to Delhi Airport, planes occasionally fly overhead, but it wasn't overly noisy. The peaceful atmosphere was so appealing that I just lingered.
Plus, I had a hunch the night view would be even more spectacular, so I decided to wait it out.

Night Views

And I was right! The night was absolutely more atmospheric and beautiful. Both the cafe itself and the view it offered transformed after dark.

I hadn't done any research, so I had no idea that Qutb Minar would be lit up at night, or that they'd even have a light show! The illumination was surprisingly beautiful.

The show itself might not be groundbreaking, but witnessing it in 'India' felt uniquely special. I certainly didn't expect to see something like that here!
Inside the Delhi Cafe

I spent most of my time on the outdoor terrace, so my photos and descriptions mostly focus on that area, but there's also a lovely indoor space.

Just like this. In the afternoon, both the indoor and outdoor areas were quiet (though the indoor section had slightly more patrons at that time). By night, both fill up completely, with the outdoor terrace being the most popular spot, of course.

The table I chose, with its direct view, is considered one of the prime spots here. My only minor gripe was the presence of a mosquito net frame, which slightly obstructed the view.

Another excellent spot is the couple's seating area upstairs. I imagine the view from there is completely unobstructed. However, because of its elevated position, you might find yourself drawing a few glances when new guests arrive.
