Dongchundang Park is a historical park built around the

'Dongchundang (同春堂)' old house, where Song Jun-gil, a famous prime minister of the Joseon Dynasty, once resided.

Dongchundang means "a space where spring resides,"

and it's famous every spring for its plum blossom scenery harmonizing with the tranquil traditional Korean house.

Around the old house, there's a well-maintained pine forest, a neat pond, and walking trails,

with seasonal flowers like cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, and azaleas planted throughout,

making it a great place for a stroll all year round.

Among them, the harmony of red plum blossoms, white plum blossoms, and sansuyu (cornelian cherry)

makes it one of the first places to experience spring,

creating a bright yet tranquil atmosphere,

earning it a reputation as a top spring flower spot.

typically reach their peak from mid-March to early April each year.

However, this year, the blooming is about a week later than last year,

so they are expected to be at their peak from this weekend through next week.

When I visited on March 21st, the flowers weren't yet in full splendor.
