How do you get to Din Tai Fung Myeongdong?

Enter the Hotel28 building,
go up to the 2nd floor,
and the restaurant will be right there.

The restaurant occupies a large space
on the 2nd floor,
so there's no way to get lost.
Operating hours were
from 11 AM
to 9 PM.
Is it good for groups?

The restaurant is very spacious
and has separate rooms,
making it ideal for groups.
As soon as we entered,
we could see the dim sum
being made right away.
Seeing each one handcrafted
right before my eyes definitely
instilled trust.

The main hall had customers
of various nationalities,
creating a very Myeongdong-like atmosphere.

We were guided to
our private room.
With six adults gathered,
the room was much more comfortable
for conversation than the open hall.
If your group has 6 or more people,
I recommend reserving a room in advance
via Naver Reservations.
What's included in Din Tai Fung Myeongdong's Autumn Set?

We ordered Autumn Set #2
and added an extra order of
spicy crab roe shaomai.
Stir-fried Green Beans with Beef
Chili Shrimp
Vegetable Wonton Noodles
Dan Dan Noodles
Egg Fried Rice
Xiaolongbao
Shrimp Xiaolongbao
Red Bean Xiaolongbao
When we placed our order,
we asked for everything to be prepared
at once, and all the dishes came out together.
When sharing among several people,
it was definitely more convenient
to receive everything at once.

Autumn Set Menu 2
₩115,500 (~$86)
Xiaolongbao (10 pieces)
₩15,000 (~$11)
Spicy Crab Roe Shaomai (10 pieces)
₩21,000 (~$16)
How do you eat Xiaolongbao?

As expected, Din Tai Fung Myeongdong's (딘타이펑 명동)
signature dish
was the Xiaolongbao.

I placed one on my spoon,
gently pierced the skin,
and savored the rich broth first.

Then, I added shredded ginger and
a touch of soy sauce on top,
and when I popped it all in my mouth,
it was absolutely delightful!

The shrimp Xiaolongbao also
came out with it,
so it was fun to alternate between the two varieties.
Wonton Noodles, Egg Fried Rice, and Dan Dan Noodles Too!

The Vegetable Wonton Noodles
had a light, mild broth
that was incredibly comforting.

The Egg Fried Rice was also
lightly seasoned
and mild.

When I enjoyed these two dishes
alongside the Dan Dan Noodles,
the combination was simply perfect.
The mild flavors of the wonton noodles and fried rice were
wonderfully complemented by the savory broth of the Dan Dan Noodles.
Chili Shrimp

With the Green Bean Beef Stir-fry and
Chili Shrimp arriving,
our table became a feast!
Spicy Crab Roe Shumai: How Spicy Is It?

Just as the menu indicated with three chili icons,
it was spicier than I expected.
But this was actually a good thing!
Amidst all the richer dishes,
it really helped cut through the richness.

If you're someone who isn't a fan of spicy food,
then keep this in mind when ordering.
Concluding with Red Bean Paste Xiaolongbao for Dessert

The Red Bean Paste Xiaolongbao that came out at the end
was perfect as a dessert.

With its sweet red bean filling,
it was a wonderful way to
conclude our meal on a high note.
