Dambaek Hamdeok Review: Jeju's Best Stone Pot Rice
Discover Dambaek Hamdeok, a hidden gem restaurant in Jeju serving mouthwatering abalone and black pork stone pot rice with stunning ocean views.
Gazing out at Jeju's crystal-clear blue ocean and diving into the island's incredible local food scene is the ultimate travel happiness.

After taking in the breathtaking views of Hamdeok Beach, we headed over to Dambaek Hamdeok, a local stone pot rice (sotbap) spot. It was absolutely phenomenal, and I cannot recommend it enough!
If you are planning your itinerary, booking a private Jeju taxi day tour is a highly convenient option. You can customize your route for up to 4 passengers, making it incredibly easy to explore Hamdeok Beach and stop by for a delicious lunch without any transport hassle.

The hospitality here was so incredibly warm and friendly that even my mom was deeply touched. This is Dambaek, a true stone pot rice specialist.
Location & Address
Room 302, 3rd Floor, 9 Hamdeok 19-gil, Jeju-si
It is located just a quick 3-minute walk from the Hamdeok Beach parking lot, very close to the Sono Belle Resort.
You will find it on the 3rd floor of the "Hamdeok Sinbi Udon" building. Thankfully, there is an elevator, making it very easy to access.

You will spot the sign immediately as you step off the elevator, with the restroom conveniently located to the right.
The Interior

The open kitchen is spotlessly clean, and the dining area offers a lovely view with the ocean in the distance and lush green trees framing the windows.

The atmosphere is peaceful, spacious, and comfortable. The bright, modern interior design immediately gives you a welcoming feeling.
The Menu

They offer Cutlassfish (Galchi) Stone Pot Rice, Black Pork Stone Pot Rice, and Abalone Stone Pot Rice. Beyond the main rice dishes, they also serve butter-grilled abalone, grilled mackerel, and spicy braised cutlassfish stew, giving you plenty of delicious options.

You can see the row of mini stone pots cooking away, and they even provide a handy guide on how to enjoy your Cutlassfish Stone Pot Rice to the fullest!
We ordered the Abalone Stone Pot Rice (~$10) and the Black Pork Stone Pot Rice (~$10).

The tables are very spacious, so our group of four dined in complete comfort. The owner was incredibly sweet and attentive throughout our meal.

Each of us was served a generous bowl of seaweed soup (miyeok-guk) alongside our individual stone pots. The soup was incredibly flavorful and elevated the overall taste of the meal.

Here is the Black Pork Stone Pot Rice! The addition of butter makes it incredibly savory, rich, and comforting.

But oh my goodness, the Abalone Stone Pot Rice was out of this world! The abalone was unbelievably tender and did not have a single hint of fishiness. I was absolutely blown away from the very first bite.

And let's talk about the side dishes! Every single one was fresh, delicious, and tasted authentically homemade. Usually, at restaurants, there is at least one side dish that falls flat, but here, every single plate was a hit.
When we asked for refills, they brought them out in completely fresh dishes and even treated us to a complimentary serving of soy-marinated raw shrimp (saeujang). We were so incredibly grateful!
The next time I visit Jeju, this is the first place I am heading back to. I can't wait to try the rest of their menu!
