Daejeon Places to Visit in October
Daejeon Gapcheon Eoeungyo Bridge Yellow Cosmos Cluster
Autumn always makes my heart flutter, doesn't it? With the cool breeze and clear skies, it's just the season that makes you want to get away. This time, instead of traveling far, I visited the Gapcheon Eoeungyo Bridge Yellow Cosmos Cluster, filled with autumn vibes, right here in the heart of Daejeon. I took a light stroll there with my family during the Chuseok holiday. The rain was on and off, and the sky was heavily overcast, but thanks to that, we encountered an even more serene and atmospheric autumn landscape. I'll share details about its location, parking, and blooming status.

1. Location Guide

About a 3-minute walk from Yurim Park,
towards the front of Yuseong District Office,
you'll find the Gapcheon riverside, overflowing with yellow waves.

Starting from under Eoeungyo Bridge,
yellow cosmos flowers stretch beautifully
along the stream,
making it arguably the closest
autumn stroll in the heart of the city.

2. Parking Information
While there isn't a dedicated parking lot,
you can use the Yurim Park parking lot (free) or
the Yuseong District Office parking lot (paid).

The Yuseong District Office parking lot is
the closest option.
It's right next to the flower cluster,
so the location is convenient, and accessibility is great.

The day I visited was a holiday,
so the Yuseong District Office parking lot was free to use,
which made things very convenient.
Perhaps because of the rain,
the Yurim Park parking lot also
had plenty of space.

3. Blooming Status
Date of Visit: Oct 8, 2025
As of the visit date (Oct 8, 2025),
the yellow cosmos flowers were at 100% bloom!

The fully bloomed cosmos, a mix of vibrant yellow and orange,
created a breathtaking spectacle.

Due to the rain, some petals had fallen to the ground,
but even that looked incredibly beautiful.

Even with some petals gently falling,
you can still see the flowers in full bloom,
radiating their vibrant presence.

4. Visit Review
During this Chuseok holiday,
it rained continuously,
so I couldn't fully enjoy my planned travels.
It was a bit of a shame, but I decided to embrace the moment and enjoy the city.
So, umbrella in hand, I headed towards the Gapcheon riverside.

Perhaps it was the rain,
but the air was so fresh and cool,
making it absolutely perfect for a stroll.

The Gapcheon riverside is
a beloved spot for Daejeon locals,
a true highlight for running, cycling, and leisurely walks.

As I walked along the path,
I saw plenty of people cycling,
taking a casual stroll, or
enjoying a walk with their beloved pets.
What really stood out was the number of runners – so many!

The Gapcheon riverside is
incredibly well-maintained,
so even if it rains, you can enjoy a walk without any major hassle.

Even with rain,
the path isn't slippery and it's quite wide,
so not only can bikes pass easily,
but strollers and wheelchairs can navigate it with ease too.

While I missed a bright blue sky and it was a bit disappointing to have rain and overcast weather,
the raindrops clinging to the cosmos flowers made them look even more vibrant and
refreshing.

What's more,
the yellow cosmos flowers were so brilliantly colored,
they really made a striking statement! Haha.

Off to one side,
there were also some regular cosmos flowers
blooming a bit. So charming! 😊

On the hill above the road,
Korean fountain grass was also blooming alongside the yellow cosmos,
its silvery shimmer among the gold was truly beautiful.

Now THAT's a proper autumn spectacle, wouldn't you agree? 😄

And get this, right next door,
the preparations for the
Daejeon Yurim Park Chrysanthemum Festival, which kicks off on the 12th,
were in full swing!
Imagine this: enjoying the beautiful cosmos flowers,
and then diving into the Chrysanthemum Festival too –
it makes for the absolute perfect Daejeon outing itinerary for October.
