Summer vacation is winding down, isn't it?
All summer long, we've been seeking out
the free water play areas, but their operating period is now
also nearing its end.
So, this time,
I wanted to visit one more time before it closes,
and so I headed to the Ssukdeul Riverside Park Water Play Area
located in Sangdae-dong, Yuseong-gu.
In 2026, instead of the original Jaguennae Riverside Park,
the water play area is operating at Ssukdeul Riverside Park.
After visiting, I realized that
even though it's free to use,
it's equipped with water play facilities, rest areas,
and even food options,
making it a great spot to visit with kids before vacation ends.
Today, based on my personal experience,
I'll introduce everything from parking to water play facilities, shaded spots, food, and other amenities,
one by one.

📍 Ssukdeul Riverside Park Stage

For those who have used the Sangdae-dong water play area
before,
the location might feel a bit unfamiliar.
Previously, the summer water play area was held at
Sangdae-dong Jaguennae Riverside Park.
However, in 2026, due to the influence of tram construction and other factors,
the operating location has been changed to Ssukdeul Riverside Park.
I was also curious about what differences there would be
compared to the previous Sangdae-dong water play area.
But once I arrived,
I actually found the new location,
Ssukdeul Riverside Park,
much more to my liking.

✔️Temporary roadside parking allowed
✔️Radomus Parking Lots 2, 3, 4
✔️Korea Road Traffic Authority Parking Lot
Temporary parking is allowed near the bridge above
Ssukdeul Riverside Park.
On the day of my visit, I was lucky to find one spot, so parking was possible,
but it wasn't very spacious on weekends.

While free parking is available at Radomus Parking Lots 2, 3, and 4
and the Korea Road Traffic Authority parking lot,
they are a bit of a walk from the water play area.
If you have a lot of luggage,
I recommend dropping off your belongings near the water play area entrance first,
and then parking your car.
3. Ssukdeul Riverside Park Water Play Area How to Use (No Reservation Required) |
The Ssukdeul Riverside Park Water Play Area
can be enjoyed for free,
with no separate admission fee.
It is intended for
children aged 3 and above, up to elementary school age,
and guardians must accompany them.
Operating hours are from 11 AM to 5 PM,
with a 15-minute break and facility inspection after every 45 minutes of operation.

Before using the water play area,
you need to get a wristband at the entrance and wear it.
The entrance is located near the food trucks,
on the side coming from the apartments.
If you parked on the roadside shoulder above the bridge,
you can walk further into the water play area,
get your wristband, and then enjoy the facilities.
On crowded days like weekends,
One person should secure a shaded spot first,
while the other gets the wristbands – that's my recommended strategy.
Good spots fill up super fast,
so splitting roles made things so much easier for us.
4. Ssukdeul Riverside Park Water Playground What are the Water Play Facilities like? |
At Ssukdeul Riverside Park's Water Light Playground,
it's even more diverse and
cleaner than last year!
Last year, moving between the water play facilities was a bit of a hassle,
but this time, everything is gathered in one place,
making it super easy to move around.
Plus, it's fantastic to keep an eye on all the kids playing at a glance.

70cm Deep Main Pool |
As you step into Ssukdeul Riverside Park,
the first thing that catches your eye is
the expansive main pool.
The main pool is 70cm deep,
and there are two pools set up side-by-side.

From preschoolers to elementary school kids,
everyone can enjoy the water play together here.
But what really won me over was
the massive shade canopy stretching widely over the pools.
With this huge shade structure installed over the pools,
you can easily escape the strong midday sun and
splash around comfortably.

Huge Water Slides |
You can spot them from afar –
the awesome inflatable water slides!
They're pretty tall,
making them a huge hit with the kids.

Pedal Boats |
Unlike just swimming in a water park,
kids can actually propel themselves around,
which makes these a great experience for them to try at least once.

Water Rollers |
You can also try the Water Rollers, where you get inside a clear cylinder
and move across the water's surface!
Since these aren't activities you encounter everyday,
they really capture the kids' attention.
If a lot of people flock to the attractions,
you might have to wait in line,
so it's a good idea to
jump in and try them when the queue is short!

5. Ssukdeul Waterside Park Water Play Area Where to Find the Best Shady Spot? |
Around the Ssukdeul Waterside Park Water Play Area,
you'll find designated rest areas
set up with tents.

Out of all the spots, I thought
the absolute best was
right on the stage.
Being right in front of the pool,
the stage area offers a fantastic view of the kids playing,
and it was perfect for viewing the entire water play area.
Just a heads-up, since the space isn't very large,
it's the first place to fill up.
My second pick would be
the spot right behind the slide.
It's super close to the water attractions,
making it easy to watch the kids as they come and go.
If peace and quiet are more your vibe,
the area near the roadside parking lot (right next to the mist tunnel) is a great option.
Overall,
since all these spots are conveniently located right around the water play facilities,
you really can't go wrong when picking your perfect base!
✔️ To keep a close eye on your little ones → The stage area
✔️ For a spot near the water attractions → Behind the slide
✔️ If you're seeking a quiet retreat → Next to the mist tunnel
6. Ssukdeul Waterside Park Water Play Area Outside Food & Food Trucks – What's the Scoop? |
With the move to Ssukdeul Waterside Park this season,
they've also welcomed some fantastic food trucks!
While it's always great to pack your own snacks and drinks,
I found it incredibly convenient to be able to grab some simple bites right there on site!

They had three different vendors offering delicious treats like chicken skewers, dakgangjeong (sweet and spicy fried chicken), and even Oreo ice cream!
Though, perhaps because of the scorching heat,
not too many people were buying them when I was there. Haha!
7. Ssukdeul Waterside Park Water Play Area Convenience Facilities: Temporary Changing Rooms and Showers |
Life jackets were available for free,
and they even offered complimentary chilled bottled water (It's Water)
to keep everyone hydrated!

Plus, you'll find separate changing rooms for men and women,
along with temporary shower facilities.

After a fun splash,
you can easily rinse off
and change your clothes.
It's good to think of these as quick rinse-off spots
rather than full-on showering facilities.

Temporary restrooms are also
conveniently located near the water play area,
making it easy to use
with kids.
8. Ssukdeul Waterside Park Water Play Area Essentials to Pack |
Essential Items |
Swimsuit or rash guard / Towel / Change of clothes / Swim cap or hat / Personal water bottle / Sunscreen / Plastic bag or waterproof bag for wet clothes |
Convenient Items to Have |
Picnic mat / Snacks / Portable fan / Wagon or folding cart |
Something you absolutely shouldn't forget is
a hat or a swim cap.
You need to wear a hat when using the pool,
so be sure to pack one before you leave!
And something I found incredibly useful this summer
while visiting various water playgrounds was
a waterproof car seat liner.
When the shower rooms were crowded or if the water playground was close to home,
I'd put the waterproof liner on the car seat
and just put the kids straight in the car to wash them at home. It was super convenient!
This time, Ssukdeul Riverside Park was also close to home,
so after playing in the water, I put them right in the car
and washed them once we got back.

When I heard that Sangdae-dong Water Playground
had moved to Ssukdeul Riverside Park this year,
I was curious if it would be very different from the previous one.
After visiting it myself,
I found that the water play facilities were all gathered in one place,
and it was easy to watch the kids from the shade,
making it even better to use than before.
Summer break isn't much longer,
and the water playground operates until August 17th.
If your child is still yearning for some water fun,
it would be a great idea to visit for one last splash
before summer break ends!

In 2026, due to factors such as tram construction, the water playground's operating location was changed to Ssukdeul Waterfront Park. The new location is reportedly more convenient to use because its water play facilities are gathered in one place, and it's easy to watch children from shaded areas.
If you want to watch your children up close, the area above the stage directly in front of the pool is ideal. For spots closer to the water play facilities, the area behind the slides is recommended. If you prefer to relax quietly, we suggest the spots next to the mist tunnel.
You can temporarily park on the shoulder near the bridge above Ssukdeul Waterfront Park, or use the Radomus 2, 3, 4 parking lots, or the Korea Road Traffic Authority parking lot. If you have a lot of luggage, we recommend dropping off your belongings near the water playground entrance first, and then parking your car.
Three food trucks operate at Ssukdeul Waterfront Park Water Playground, offering items such as chicken skewers (dakkochi), sweet and spicy fried chicken (dakgangjeong), and Oreo ice cream. Outside food is permitted, but cooking on-site is prohibited.
Before using the water playground, you must receive and wear a wristband at the entrance (coming from the apartment side, next to the food trucks). On crowded days like weekends, we recommend one person securing a shaded spot first while the other person goes to get the wristbands.
