1. Sosorowa: A Lifestyle Store in Daeheung-dong, Daejeon - Location & Parking
Sosorowa, a charming lifestyle store nestled in Daeheung-dong, Daejeon,
has expanded significantly after moving to a new, larger space,
now spanning approximately 60 pyeong (about 2,130 sq ft or 198 sq m).
You'll find it on the 2nd floor of the Jeonbok Manse building, right next to Wolsan Bon-ga.
It's conveniently located near the Daeheung-dong and Eunhaeng-dong areas, home to Seongsimdang,
making it a fantastic addition to your Daejeon itinerary.
For parking, there are 3 spots directly in front of the store,
and about 3 more spaces available on the side.
If these spots are full, you can use the alleyways near Daejeon Girls' Middle School
or the paid parking lot right by the school's wall!
2. From Stickers to Dishes
An Adorable Paradise Where You'll Find Everything You Never Knew You Needed!
When you step into the store, you'll likely be surprised by its scale –
it's much larger than you might expect!
You can discover cute products from over 100 Korean brands,
including a wide variety of illustration brands,
so it's truly difficult to just glance around and leave!
Postcards, letter paper, photo cards, memo pads,
notebooks, planners, calendars – and that's just the start!
Keyrings, plushies, tin cases, and even pin buttons.
The sheer variety of items was absolutely astounding.
What truly stood out, though, was the overwhelming selection of
journal decorating stickers, chunky memo pads, and masking tape!
The walls and display shelves were absolutely packed with stickers and masking tape,
densely packed from top to bottom.
The designs range from irresistibly cute characters
to artistic, emotive illustrations, offering incredible variety.
It's truly a paradise for anyone into journal decorating! Haha.
There were practical products like phone cases, AirPods cases, PopSockets,
and mousepads.
And then there were decorative items too: candles, mobiles, macrame, incense holders,
even rattan, wood, and fabric accessories.
It was so much fun browsing through everything, discovering things that perfectly suited my taste.
I particularly loved the table-ware corner
that was gathered in one section.
From dishes that looked like a cat was snuggled right inside,
to cups, plates, cutlery, and coasters – everything!
Many items could instantly become a focal point
just by placing one on your dining table,
making it a fantastic spot to pick out gifts.
You'll also find fashion accessories like bags and pouches, bread-themed merchandise,
Kkumdori merchandise (which is a must-have if you're thinking of Daejeon),
and even baseball-related goods.
So, if you're looking for souvenirs from your Daejeon trip, definitely check it out! :)
3. What to do after visiting Sungsimdang?
Recommended Fun Things to Do in Daejeon!
What I loved about Sosorowa was how spacious it was.
There was no need to rush or jostle with other people;
I could take my time browsing around.
The sheer variety of items was incredible,
making it fun to explore every nook and cranny.
Best of all, the air conditioning was blasting,
which made it even better on a hot and humid day, hehe!
It's perfect for anyone looking for indoor activities in Daejeon!
And in one section,
you could even create custom T-shirts.
The ability to make your own T-shirt with a design you love
was really cool, adding an experiential element
that you don't find in typical souvenir shops.
It was a fun twist!
After purchasing an item, you can also take adorable black-and-white paper photos
at the machine in the store.
There are various frames, so if you visit with friends or a partner,
it would be lovely to snap a commemorative photo :)
I initially thought I'd just pop in for a quick look,
but there was so much to see that time just flew by...
The staff were incredibly sweet and friendly,
making me feel comfortable even when browsing for a long time (so touched!).
If you've visited Sungsimdang and are looking for something different than a cafe,
or if you're searching for an indoor date spot in Daeheung-dong,
or if you love decorating your journal or collecting cute little items,
this is a place I highly recommend.
If you're visiting Daejeon,
Combine a visit to Seongsimdang Main Branch and Sosorowa into one delightful itinerary!
It's a surprisingly fulfilling course where you can not only grab some delicious bread but also browse adorable Daejeon souvenirs!
