A brand-new festival is coming to
Daejeon's Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park,
where you can enjoy cool summer nights.
It's called the
'2026 Gapcheon Punch Festa,' and even the name sounds like fun!
Set against the beautiful Gapcheon River,
this urban summer festival offers everything from live music performances,
water activities and hands-on experiences, delicious food, a flea market,
to delightful picnics.
What's really exciting is that during the festival,
you'll even get to experience hot air balloon rides
floating above Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park,
stirring up immense anticipation even before the event begins!
From music concerts
to water gun fights and hot air balloon rides,
this festival has so much to offer that you might find you need
more things than you expect to enjoy a full day of fun!

for its water play area and ground fountains.

expect it to be very challenging to find a spot on the day of the event, as many people gather.
Whenever events are held here,
parking always seems to be the first challenge.
This time, too, we anticipate large crowds,
meaning the parking battle will likely begin early in the day.

it's a good idea to come early to secure your spot!

The Gapcheon Punch Festa is a summer festival
designed to help citizens beat the sweltering heat
and enjoy a cool urban experience filled with cultural and tourism activities.
The 'Punch' in the festival's name
is actually a clever blend of 'FUN' and
'CHILL' (evoking a refreshing break), creating a 'FUN-CHILL' concept.
Against the backdrop of Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park,
with its expansive lawns and beautiful waterfront,
this event lets you enjoy live music, water play, hands-on experiences, delicious food,
and delightful picnics all in one fantastic location.
The festivities kick off
at 5 PM, allowing you to soak in

One of the absolute highlights at this year's Gapcheon Punch Festa is undoubtedly the
'Seogu's Moon' Hot Air Balloon Experience!
This isn't a free-flying hot air balloon that journeys far;
it's a tethered experience, meaning you'll ascend vertically while safely connected to the ground,
offering unique views!
From your vantage point in the hot air balloon,
you'll get to gaze down at Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park and the surrounding landscapes
from an entirely fresh and breathtaking perspective.

Hometown Love Donation Hot Air Balloon Event |
On August 8th,
a special hot air balloon experience will be held exclusively for those who have participated in the
Daejeon Seogu Hometown Love Donation program.
If you reside outside Daejeon Seogu (based on your resident registration) and
donate ~$69 or more between July 20th and 27th
through the Hometown Love e-eum website or Nonghyup, and apply for a gift in return,
you'll be automatically entered into this special event!
The first 32 individuals will receive
two boarding passes each,
totaling 64 tickets.
Winners will be able to enjoy the hot air balloon experience on August 8th!
Just a friendly heads-up: Even if your reservation is confirmed,
the hot air balloon operations might be delayed or even canceled on the day
due to unforeseen weather conditions,
so it's always good to be prepared!

The Gapcheon Punch Festa
runs from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
For maximum comfort while enjoying the performances or having a picnic,
definitely bring a picnic mat or a portable chair.
And since it can still be quite warm in the early evening,
packing a portable fan and an insulated tumbler with refreshing
cool drinks is a brilliant idea!
If you're planning to dive into the epic water gun battle,
make sure to bring your own water gun,
and don't forget a waterproof bag to stash your wet clothes and belongings!
Also, lakeside parks can sometimes attract mosquitoes after sunset,
so we highly recommend bringing along some
mosquito repellent to stay comfortable!

The 2026 Gapcheon Punch Festa will run for three days, from Friday, August 7th to Sunday, August 9th, 2026. The festival operating hours are daily from 5 PM to 9 PM.
The festival will be held in the area of Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park (Waterfront Plaza) at 2383 Doan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon. Free parking is available, but heavy congestion is expected on the day of the event, so it is recommended to arrive early.
General pre-registration for the 'Seo-gu's Moon' hot air balloon experience has closed. However, on-site registration will be available starting at 5 PM on a first-come, first-served basis for 32 participants at a time. The participation fee is ~$7 per person.
On Friday, August 7th, Narin, Man in Blues, and Baechigi will perform. On Saturday, August 8th, Han Yo-han, Kim Chan-mi, 58D, and Justpine will appear. Performances by Gaongil x Hwaga, Lee Deok-hyeon, and Jungsik will be held on Sunday, August 9th.
Since the festival takes place outdoors until evening, it's a good idea to bring a mat, portable chair, portable fan, and an ice tumbler. If you plan to participate in water activities, you will need a water gun, waterproof bag, spare clothes, and a towel. Mosquito repellent will also be useful.
