2. Exploring Zoo Land
The favorite section for young children is,
without a doubt, Zoo Land (the zoo).
You can find it right after a short walk up from the entrance,
and it's much larger than you might expect,
with a diverse array of animals.
It's especially fun if you time your visit to catch the feeding times and ecological talks.
👉 Ecological Talk & Feeding Schedule
Otter : 2:10 PM
Tiger : 2:30 PM
Wolf : 3:30 PM
Seal Feeding : 3:00 PM
During these times, the animals are
most active, making it a
highly recommended experience.

Here are some of the animals I met during my visit:

Bear :
The bear sitting like a person was
so cute and friendly! Haha.

Tiger 🐯 :
You can see them up close from the indoor viewing path.
During the day, they often sleep in the shade,
but from evening onwards, you can see them
prowling around and moving actively.

Wallaroo 🦘 :
They sometimes playfully fight with each other
and hop around.
I even witnessed a pooping scene! Haha.

Fennec Fox 🦊 :
Thanks to their small and adorable appearance,
both kids and adults absolutely love them.
However, during the day, they are often seen sleeping.

Reptiles · Birds of Prey :
You can encounter spine-chilling pythons and snakes,
as well as majestic eagles and crocodiles.

You'll also get to see a variety of other herbivores,
including alpacas, mountain goats, horses, and sheep.

✅ Monkey Village (Indoor Monkey Exhibit)
Just when you start to feel a little weary from all the outdoor exploration,
this **indoor viewing space** is a welcome sight.

The air conditioning is blasting, making it a perfect spot to catch your breath,
and through the glass viewing windows,
you can see the daily lives of a variety of **monkeys up close**.

They play around and tease each other,
and sometimes they'll even come right up to the transparent window!
Their speedy movements, in particular,
are so captivating, kids won't be able to tear their eyes away.
Up close,
you can observe the monkeys' diverse expressions and behaviors,
making it enjoyable for both kids and adults.

3. Safari
When you think of O-World, you absolutely can't miss
the **African Safari**!
It's a unique program where you ride a bus directly among the animals,
allowing you to observe them up close.
✅ How to Board
It's not included in the basic admission ticket,
so you'll need to pay an **additional fee (~$5 per person)**.
If you grab an all-inclusive pass, you can enjoy unlimited safari rides!

✔️ It's super popular, so expect a long queue.
It's a good idea to set aside at least 30 minutes to an hour.
I visited on a Saturday and waited about 40 minutes.
You can usually get in faster than the Flume Ride.
✔️ Strollers can be parked right in front of the entrance before your safari adventure.
✔️ Safari viewing time: Approximately 15 minutes

✔️ The safari operates a variety of uniquely themed buses – think tigers, lions, giraffes, and zebras!
You'll be randomly assigned one when you board.
👉 Insider Tip for Snagging the Best Seat!
The **seat right behind the driver in the front** is absolutely the best!
It offers the closest possible vantage point to the animals.
To give you a heads-up on animal locations:
you'll get a great view of **carnivores (lions, tigers) on the left (driver's side)**,
while the **right side offers prime viewing of herbivores (like elephants)**.

Animals Encountered in the Safari
Bear:
Their remarkable ability to stand on two feet,
almost like a personal trick for visitors, is truly impressive!

And if the driver tosses them some biscuits, they're quick to catch and munch on them!

Tiger:
While most of them tend to be asleep during the day,
if you happen to explore in the evening,
you might just be lucky enough to catch them in action!

Lions :
Just like the tigers, most of the lions were asleep too.

On the day of our visit,
one lion was sprawled out.
Its posture was so amusing,
it brought smiles and laughter to many visitors.

Elephants :
If you sit on the right side seats, you can see them up close.
Their seemingly smiling faces are quite impressive, aren't they?

Zebras :
In the herbivore zone,
seeing them move so gracefully
was truly peaceful.

🐺 A Special Place to Meet Korean Wolves
At Daejeon O-World,
you can see something rare at other zoos:
you can directly observe Korean Wolves.

On the path leading from Zoo Land to Bird Land (Flower Land),
a wolf enclosure has been set up,
This is a place where you can see wolves roaming freely along the hillside,
living naturally.
✔️Feeding Time for Observation
3:30 PM

You can observe their lively movements up close,
whether they're running through the distant forest
or resting together in packs.

In particular, seeing the wolves milling about in packs
or sitting quietly and sharply surveying their surroundings is
truly awe-inspiring.
While they mostly rest in the shade during the day,
you can see them more active
around dusk.
4. Bird Land
After enjoying Zoo Land and the Safari,
if you head towards Flower Land,
you'll find Bird Land located at the very end.
Personally, it's a space I enjoy even more
than Zoo Land or the Safari.

✅Key Attractions
Penguins 🐧 :
So adorable, right?
You can watch the penguins swimming vigorously.
✔️Feeding and Ecological Explanation
2:00 PM

Flamingos 🦩 :
Their pink feathers are so beautiful, they're perfect for photos!
You can see them right before your eyes.

It's truly amazing that you can see them so closely.
Plus, your photos will turn out beautifully!

※ For safety, zookeepers are always present and managing the area.

Parrot Zone 🦜 :
From large parrots to small ones,
they fly around freely,
captivating your gaze with their vibrant colors.
(Just a heads-up, it can get a bit noisy! 😄)

What's truly special is the **Free-Flying Parrot Zone**, a rare sight even in Korea,
where you can experience birds flying right above your head!

👉 Bird Land Visitor Tips
Last entry is at 5 PM. If you go too late, the birds might be less active.
✔️Parrot Ecology Talk (Weekends & Public Holidays)
1:45 PM / 4:15 PM
✔️Feeding Experience Times
12:30 PM / 2:00 PM / 3:30 PM
Previously, you could purchase food
for the feeding experience,
but due to changes in animal welfare laws,
food is now provided in gourds.
5. Essential Visitor Tips
✔️ Head to the Safari First!
It's the most popular attraction at O-World, so the lines get long. It's a great idea to head straight to the Safari as soon as you enter.
✔️ Time Your Visit with the Ecology Talks
Many of the animals at Zoo Land tend to nap during the day. Checking the times for ecology talks and feeding experiences and planning your visit around them will allow you to see them much more actively.
✔️ Comfortable Attire & Sneakers are a Must
The park grounds are vast, and there are many hills. Especially if you're heading all the way to Bird Land, sneakers are absolutely essential!
✔️ Stroller and Wagon Rental for Kids
You can rent wagons (~$10) and strollers (~$3) at the rental office. Kids can get tired after walking for a long time, so we highly recommend them.
✔️ Choose Your Parking Spot Wisely
Using the parking lot near the Flower Land entrance instead of the main gate parking lot will make your exit much smoother.
Daejeon O-World's Zoo Land and Safari are
much more than just a simple zoo.
With Monkey Village, Korean Wolves, and even an African Safari,
there's so much to explore all at once, making it incredibly fulfilling.
And if you add Flower Land and Joy Land to the mix,
your day will fly by in a flash!
Before your visit, be sure to check the operating hours, feeding experience times, and schedules for shows and the fireworks display
to ensure you don't miss out on anything.
It will make your outing even more enriching and unforgettable.
