On a recent trip, while I was preparing to move from Jeju Island to Sejong City and browsing furniture and appliances, I found myself at Daejeon Shinsegae Art & Science. Wandering through the various stores in the department complex, I stumbled upon the Daejeon Promotional Hall on the 7th floor.
To my surprise, its scale was much more substantial and there was far more to see than I had anticipated! I initially thought it would be just a simple promotional space, but with its diverse range of merchandise and charming photo zones, it truly felt like a must-visit character goods shop during any Daejeon trip.
Meet the Even Cuter Dreamy Family!
As soon as you step inside, a giant Dreamy statue welcomes you, and its impressive size immediately catches your eye. Before this visit, I only knew about Dreamy, but I was excited to discover the entire Dreamy Family, a collection of diverse and equally charming characters.
Each character has unique expressions and personalities, making it a joy to browse through. This variety also translates into a fantastic range of merchandise designs, which I absolutely loved.
The Dreamy School Photo Zone
In one corner of the goods shop, there's a charming Dreamy School photo zone, designed to look like an elementary school classroom. The sight of the Dreamy Family dolls seated at each desk was incredibly endearing. It would be so much fun for families and couples to visit and snap some memorable photos here!
The promotional hall's merchandise shop boasted a more extensive and diverse selection of products than I expected. Beyond simple keepsakes, there were many practical items you could use in your daily life, making them perfect for thoughtful gifts.
Keyrings and Dolls Perfect for Accessorizing Your Bag
From soft, plush Dreamy and Kkumsooni dolls to stylish acrylic keyrings, there was a diverse selection beautifully displayed. These items are perfect for personalizing your bag, a popular trend right now, or for adding a touch of cuteness to your diary or pouch.
Their size is just right, and the prices are quite reasonable, making it easy to pick up one or two as a fun souvenir or small gift.
Edible Souvenirs with Adorable Packaging
The item that caught my eye the most was definitely the Dreamy Ramen! (Good news for travelers: you might also spot Dreamy Ramen at the Yuseong Bus Terminal.) It comes in two flavors, beef and seafood jjamppong, and the cute packaging makes it a fantastic gift option.
Beyond ramen, they also offer light snacks like konjac jjondeugi (chewy konjac jelly) and Dreamy nurungji (scorched rice snacks), which are easy to pick up without breaking the bank.
Hanwha Eagles Collaboration Merchandise
I was also impressed by the collaboration merchandise with the Hanwha Eagles, Daejeon's beloved professional baseball team. Items like the acrylic phone grips and Dreamy keyrings holding baseball bats featured appealing designs that any baseball fan would appreciate. (Even as a Lotte Giants fan, I found myself wanting them!)
They even had card cases, keyring badges, and more, collaborated with player Ryu Hyun-jin, so if you're a Hanwha fan, it's definitely worth a visit. These unique Daejeon-specific souvenirs are hard to find elsewhere, making them even more special and appealing.
Plan Your Travel Route in Advance
It's important to note that Shinsegae Art & Science is a bit of a distance from Daejeon Station and Eunhaeng-dong, where the main Seongsimdang bakery is located. If your travel plans primarily involve exploring around Daejeon Station on foot, I'd recommend visiting 'Dreamy and Daejeon Travel' inside Daejeon Station or 'Dreamy House' near Exit 2 of Daejeon Station instead.

After experiencing it myself, I realized it's less of a simple promotional center and more of a charming goods shop where you can immerse yourself in Daejeon's unique characters and local identity all in one place.
If you're a fan of cute Dreamy merchandise, this would be an excellent final stop on your Daejeon adventure.
