🥪Tim Focaccia: A Top Pick for Daehangno Dates & Must-Visit Spot
You'll love Tim Focaccia if you're looking for:
✔︎ Enthusiastic fans of artisanal, handmade sandwiches
✔︎ A perfect spot for a pre or post-theater meal, conveniently close to Hyehwa Station
✔︎ Instagram-worthy, beautifully crafted sandwiches that taste as good as they look
I used to be quite the theatergoer back in the day, and every time I was in Daehangno, I'd find myself exploring the neighborhood before and after shows. My friend and I would constantly point at Tim Focaccia, vowing to visit "next time." Well, after countless promises, I finally made it, and I'm excited to share my review!
The shop isn't particularly spacious, and indoor seating is limited. If you plan to dine in, be prepared for a potential wait. However, if indoor seating isn't a must, there are a few bar-style tables and chairs outside where you can enjoy your meal.
Just a heads-up: the specific outdoor spot pictured might feel a bit awkward, as you'd be facing customers choosing their sandwiches. It's not my top recommendation for a relaxed meal. 😢
Despite the limited seating, I still highly recommend this place because of its sheer ✨beauty✨ and, more importantly, the practicality! Unless you're taking your sandwich all the way home, trying to eat it on the go or perched awkwardly nearby isn't ideal. Trust me, finding a spot to sit and savor these delicious creations is worth it.
Given its popularity and limited seating, there's a clear waiting system in place. After completing your order, make sure to check your receipt number. Seating is then assigned in the order of receipt numbers. On weekends, all members of your party must be present to be seated. Also, it's important to note that you can't join the waiting list without placing an order first.
Ordering your sandwich is a breeze! Instead of grabbing them yourself from a display, you simply select your desired sandwiches on a kiosk, and the staff will prepare them for you. This system was super convenient!
These sandwiches were truly mouth-watering and so beautiful, it felt almost a shame to eat them! ❤️ My friend and I scrolled endlessly online before meeting, trying to decide what to order. In the end, we went with the Signature Focaccia Sandwich (Grilled Eggplant) and the Apricot Jambon Beurre!
The sandwiches come conveniently cut in half, making them easy to share and enjoy.
Signature Focaccia Sandwich - Grilled Eggplant
~$9
First up is the Signature Focaccia Sandwich. This particular one comes in two versions: Grilled Eggplant 🍆 and Avocado 🥑. I've been really into eggplant lately, so I chose that version, and honestly, one bite was all it took for me to fall in love! I admit, I had slightly lower expectations because of the pumpkin on the focaccia bread, but the bread itself was incredibly soft and fluffy! This one is truly a must-try!
Apricot Jambon Beurre
~$7
Next, we tried the Apricot Jambon Beurre. While it was tasty, the Signature Focaccia was so outstanding that this one felt a bit more "standard" in comparison. The apricot jam flavor was quite prominent, overshadowing the other ingredients a bit. And honestly, the focaccia bread was overwhelmingly better than the baguette! ❤️
Americano
On the day I visited, I wasn't feeling great and was taking medication, so sweet drinks weren't appealing. Oddly enough, I ordered an Americano, even though I wasn't working! The good news is, it wasn't overly acidic, which I appreciated.
While the interior isn't vast, essentials like water and tissues were thoughtfully provided near the entrance.
✔︎ Tim Focaccia Review: A Must-Visit for Daehangno Dates
If you're overwhelmed by all the delicious options, I wholeheartedly recommend the Signature Focaccia with Grilled Eggplant! It's an absolute winner!
