Movement Flow & Boarding Order

❶ Registration & Safety Training (2F): The 1st floor operates as the 'Full Moon' cafe, and after confirming our reservation at the 2nd-floor reception, we moved to the training area.

A professional guide meticulously and systematically explained everything from how to hold the paddle to the proper rowing technique.

❷ Gear Up & Head Out: After safely putting on our life vests and choosing our preferred paddles, it was GO Go time to the boarding area!

❸ Getting into the Canoe: The staff member helped us out the whole time as we got in, so we were able to board comfortably without any wobbling.
I'm seriously such a scaredy-cat, you know ㅠㅠ So I was worried about it wobbling or flipping over, but it was much more stable than I expected, which was a bit embarrassing! ^^;

❹ Cruising Uiam Lake: As we glided over the calm waters of Uiam Lake and passed underneath the Samaksan Cable Car, seeing the cable cars go by overhead was truly unique and spectacular..

❺ Safety Management: The guide staff member followed us around constantly in a motorboat, looking after our safety, so we could really relax and enjoy ourselves
And if we looked tired, they cleverly attached a rope to their boat
and towed us along... ✨ (It was absolutely amazing!)
Pros and Cons Based on My Experience

What I Loved
The view of the Samaksan Cable Car from the water, along with the sparkling sunlight on the water's surface (yunseul), is truly fantastic and beautiful.
There was also the small joy of waving and exchanging greetings with other canoe users and families passing by... (It really boosted my human connection!)
With safety personnel on a boat constantly checking the surroundings, even beginners or those who are a bit timid can ride with peace of mind!

What I Found Less Ideal (Personal Opinion!)
Paddling, the act of rowing, actually required quite a bit more stamina than I expected..!
This was purely a case of my own low stamina, so I felt a bit lacking in that regard.. haha
However, if you're a group of women without much arm strength, like me, you might get tired quickly. If you're coming as a couple, I highly recommend having the stronger male partner sit in the back and take the lead..!
Time Slot Recommendations & What to Bring

We visited for the 4 PM slot, and even though it was after Cheoseo in August (the traditional end of summer heat), the sun was still blazing, so it was definitely hot!
But the sparkling yunseul on the water was so beautiful that even though it was hot,
we still got to fully experience the romance of it all. That's why I recommend the 4 PM slot,
And if you want to enjoy both the yunseul and the sunset at the same time,
I recommend the Sunset Time (6 PM slot)!
However, since the Sunset Time is definitely a peak hour,
it costs ~$15 per person..!
Personally, the items I recommend bringing are
non-slip shoes, which I highly recommend wearing!
I almost wore flip-flops, but since they can be slippery,
I changed into Crocs and had no regrets.
Also, a hat is a must! The sun is incredibly strong with no blind spots, so sunscreen and sunglasses are also recommended.
Final Conclusion

There are great multi-child discounts (~$26 for 2 people / ~$29 for 3 people) and children's discounts, and the pre-safety education is thorough, making it perfect for coming with kids!
Beyond that, for anyone who wants to enjoy a special and unique experience with their partner / spouse / friends / family / or even their furry friend,
I recommend it to everyone!
Actually, since I'm a local, I never really thought I'd get the chance to go canoeing
before now,
but experiencing it firsthand this time,
it gave me that thrilling feeling of being on a far-off trip,
and both my husband and I had such a delightful time! 😍

If you're looking for a special and unique activity during your Chuncheon trip,
a romantic canoe experience at Chuncheon Mulle-gil
is definitely something you should try! ‼️
