After exploring the Animation Museum and Robot Toy Museum,
and even having lunch, we found ourselves with some awkward downtime.
Our review of the Animation Museum and Robot Toy Museum 🔽
It felt a shame to just head home,
but moving too far afield felt like too much hassle.
So, the activity we quickly found was the cable car!
We deliberated between taking the cable car
or heading towards Gapyeong for a rail bike ride.
Considering we were with my parents,
and the weather was still a bit chilly,
we decided on the cable car.
If planning an itinerary feels like too much effort,
you might want to check out a Chuncheon day tour.

The Samaksan Lake Cable Car is
a pretty famous attraction in Chuncheon, so I knew its name,
but this was my first time riding it.

Cable car users get 4 hours of free parking.

I booked our tickets via Naver.
~$12 (per person on weekdays)
Please note that prices may have changed,
so be sure to check before you go.

You can pick up your reserved tickets either at the counter or from a kiosk.

Since we had tickets for the 8th slot,
we were able to board right away.
What's more, perhaps because it was a later time slot,
there weren't many people.

Moving towards the boarding area

It reminded me of the time I rode a cable car
in Da Nang, haha.
There were five of us, so I wondered if another group would join us,
but we ended up having the cabin all to ourselves.

I think there was also a 'Crystal' option?
(That's the one with the transparent floor = a little more expensive)
But we went with the standard cabin.
The Samaksan Lake Cable Car is
Since it's actually known as one of the longest lake cable cars in Korea,
the ride isn't particularly short.

Honestly, I was a little scared when we first started ascending.
And as we passed the cable car support towers,
it rattled and swayed,
making me a little nervous.

But maybe it was because the scenery was so beautiful,
but I handled it better than when I rode one in Da Nang.
Haha!

The lake scenery (Uiam Lake) unfolding beneath our feet
looked incredibly refreshing,
and it was even better riding it with my parents.
Being able to sit comfortably
and take in the leisurely views
was particularly satisfying.

Upon arrival,
the area is well-designed for exploring.

Behind the cafe,
there's a hiking trail.
Ediya (coffee shop) is located in a prime spot,
making it perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee with a great view.

We had been busy exploring since the morning,
and my parents also wanted to rest,
so we decided to relax with a cup of tea at the cafe
before heading back down.
We took a lot of photos! Hahaha!

At first, I wondered, "Do we really need to ride this?"
But after experiencing it, I realized it's a worthwhile experience
to try at least once in Chuncheon.
Especially if you're traveling with your parents,
or if your itinerary involves enjoying scenery without much walking,
this course is even more perfect.

If you find yourself with some extra time during your Chuncheon trip,
it's a recommended activity that offers good satisfaction
even if you just casually add it to your plans.
Today, with my parents,
we were able to create happy memories,
making for a truly fulfilling day!!
