On our first day exploring Chuncheon, after soaking in the views from the Soyanggang Skywalk, our dinner choice was an obvious one: Dakgalbi! You simply can't visit Chuncheon, South Korea, without indulging in its signature stir-fried chicken dish.
This wasn't our first time at 1.5 Dakgalbi. We’d visited on a previous Chuncheon trip and had such a fantastic meal that we knew we had to come back. The delicious memory lingered, making it an easy decision to return without a second thought.
Exterior & Parking Tips

One minor drawback when visiting 1.5 Dakgalbi is the parking situation. There isn't a large, dedicated parking lot, meaning you'll need to find parallel parking on the surrounding streets.
This time, we circled the block a few times before finally snagging a spot. If you're driving, it's definitely something to keep in mind and factor into your plans.
Menu Highlights

Dakgalbi: ~$12
Chicken Giblets (Daknaejang): ~$12
Fried Rice: ~$2
Udon Noodles: ~$2
Our Order: The Stir-Fry Experience!

After placing our order, a staff member regularly came by to stir-fry the Dakgalbi right at our table. This is one of the best parts about eating Dakgalbi in Chuncheon!

Not having to cook it ourselves makes dining so much more relaxing, especially when traveling with kids. It allows for easy conversation and a much more enjoyable meal experience.

Honestly, the flavor this time didn't quite hit with the same 'wow' factor as our first visit. That initial experience had us raving about how truly delicious it was, but on this second trip, it didn't quite reach those heights.
Perhaps our expectations were set a little too high after such a memorable first impression!

Even so, the seasoning was still excellent, offering a perfectly balanced, savory kick that wasn't overly spicy. It remained a solid, enjoyable meal, and our opinion still holds: if you're looking for a dependable Dakgalbi spot in Chuncheon, this is a safe bet.
We added udon noodles to our order.

If you're on a trip and want a relaxed dining experience, especially when visiting with kids, you'll likely be very satisfied.

While udon noodles are great for kids, I personally prefer jjolmyeon (chewy noodles) with my Dakgalbi, so for me, the udon was just okay. But the rice cakes (tteok) were delicious!

Stir-frying the Dakgalbi!

And for the grand finale: fried rice!
Stir-fried to perfection.

The fried rice cooked on the hot griddle is perfectly crispy and flavorful a truly delicious way to end the meal.

While we wish the parking was a bit more convenient, considering the delicious food and the hassle-free dining experience, we'd definitely return again.
If you're in Chuncheon and looking for a reliable Dakgalbi spot, 1.5 Dakgalbi is a choice where you really can't go wrong.
