Today, I'm excited to share my personal review of Cheolgil Busan House, Supgil Branch – a renowned Hongdae outdoor bar and pub along the beautiful Gyeongui Line Forest Park!

Exterior / Interior
As you stroll along the Gyeongui Line Forest Park promenade from Hongik University Station Exit 6, you'll be greeted by the inviting wooden exterior of Cheolgil Busan House.
A menu is displayed at the entrance, so you can check out the offerings before heading inside.

The interior offers a variety of seating options, from bar stools perfect for solo diners to tables for small groups, and even outdoor patio seating – or "yajang" – where you can truly soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Gyeongui Line Forest Park.

Menu & My Order
The signature items at Cheolgil Busan House, Supgil Branch, are their freshly handmade fish cakes and a rich broth simmered for over 5 hours.
They offer a diverse selection, from individual items to various set menus.

My Order
·Fish Cake Set for 2: ~$13
·Sour Chinese-Style Fried Chicken: ~$13
·Soju: ~$4
·Draft Beer: ~$4 * 3
My Review
Each table comes equipped with a ladle for the fish cake broth, tissues, a skewer disposal bin, and soy sauce. Water, small plates, and chopsticks are brought to your table after you order.
I was impressed to learn that they don't reuse the fish cake skewers, which adds a nice touch of reassurance.

Another major plus is the individual warming pot at each table, ensuring your fish cakes stay deliciously warm until the very last bite.

Their drink menu is also incredibly diverse, featuring Soju, beer, draft beer, highball, traditional Korean liquors, Daetongju (bamboo liquor), and even sake! Since it's "Busan House," I opted for a bottle of Daeseon soju, a local favorite from Busan.

They also provided pickled radish and wasabi to complement the warm broth and fish cakes.

Just look at the perfect ratio of foam to beer in their draft — simply amazing!

The 2-person fish cake set is served separately and includes a variety: water tteok (rice cake skewer), yubu mochi pouch (fried tofu pouch with mochi), black konjac, a fish cake ball, two kkoburi (twisted fish cakes), and your choice of two additional Busan fish cakes.

The biggest draw is being able to sample so many different types of fish cakes. Among them, the water tteok is my absolute favorite!
It gets wonderfully soft and savory after soaking in the hot broth, and cutting it into bite-sized pieces makes it the perfect accompaniment to your drink!

I usually stick to fish cakes, but this time I tried the Sour Chinese-Style Fried Chicken for the first time, and it was absolutely phenomenal! The presentation alone is gorgeous.

It's topped with cabbage, fried chicken breast, chili, and lemon, all drenched in a tangy sauce. Adding a slice of Cheongyang pepper creates a perfect sour and spicy combination that's absolutely ideal with a beer. I'll definitely be ordering this again!

Overall Verdict
Cheolgil Busan House, Supgil Branch, perfectly blends the charm of a rainy day with the romantic ambiance of an outdoor patio!
