Hello everyone!
This is Minimanimu, sharing restaurant stories hand-picked by Mini!
When you think of a trip to Jeju Island, it's easy to only picture black pork restaurants.
But actually, Jeju also boasts many local beef restaurants that the residents absolutely love.
The place I'm excited to introduce today is a Jeju Yeon-dong gem I've had saved:
Chadoljip.
It's a fantastic spot to enjoy various cuts of beef like brisket (chadolbagi), neck chain (jebichuri), and skirt steak (anchangsal) at a great value,
✔️ For those looking for a meat restaurant near Jeju Airport
✔️ For those curious about a local Jeju hotspot
✔️ For those seeking a great place for a drink in Yeon-dong
I especially want to recommend it!

How to Reserve & Waiting Tips
You can make phone reservations at Chadoljip, our Jeju Yeon-dong culinary gem.
Especially during dinner hours, waiting lines are common, so I highly recommend making a reservation before you go.
I visited on a Saturday at 7:40 PM, and it was packed!
Luckily, the turnover was quick, and we were seated after only about a 5-minute wait.
Exterior / Interior
Chadoljip is conveniently located near Sammu Park in downtown Jeju City.
It's only about a 10-minute drive from Jeju Airport, making it perfect for your first or last meal on the island.
While there are some parking spots in front of the restaurant, they're not always available,
so using a nearby public parking lot is advisable.
The exterior instantly gives off that wonderful 'old-school' vibe,
really capturing the essence of a true local Jeju eatery.

Inside, you'll find both traditional floor seating (좌식) and regular table seating (입식),
and it's spacious enough to comfortably accommodate group gatherings or company dinners.

The restroom is a shared male/female facility located outside, but it was kept very clean, so there was no inconvenience.

Once you're seated, a delightful array of complimentary side dishes (banchan) is brought to your table.
Think seasoned green onion salad (pajae), pickled onions (yangpa jangajji), diced radish kimchi (kkakdugi), bean sprouts,
and even grilled mushrooms and seaweed – all perfect companions for your meat!

And here's Chadoljip's hidden gem!
Complimentary Doenjang Jjigae (Korean Soybean Paste Stew) with every meat order!
This Doenjang Jjigae comes generously loaded with chewy ox knee (dogani), making it incredibly satisfying...
The broth has a deep flavor.

Order a bowl of rice,
add it to the earthenware pot to make *doenjang-sulbap* (rice in soybean paste stew),
and this savory, warm broth is perfect as a snack with drinks or a full meal!

First up was Jebichuri (hanger steak)

Grilling it over charcoal lets it absorb all that wonderful meaty aroma.
Even though it's imported, it's so well-managed that it's perfectly chewy with no gamey smell whatsoever.

When you eat it with onions and shredded green onions,
the tender and clean flavor is absolutely delightful.

Next up is Chadolbagi (beef brisket point)!
It cooks almost instantly on the grill, and dipping it in sesame oil sauce fills your mouth with a rich, savory flavor.

A flavor that calls for Soju!

And to finish, Jebichuri Yangnyeom (marinated hanger steak).
The marinated Jebichuri with its delightfully sweet sauce is simply captivating.

Place some rice on a sheet of *gim* (seaweed) and top it with a piece of marinated meat,
and you've got yourself a deliciously perfect combination.
