without traveling all the way to Japan?

I recently visited the newly opened

Cave Ryokan Hotel by Aneuk in Yucheon-dong! :)

It's super accessible, located just a 5-minute drive from Oryong Station in Daejeon.

Plus, they have a dedicated private parking lot,

making it incredibly convenient if you're driving.

Best of all, unlike the bustling areas of Daeheung-dong or Jungang-ro,

it's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood,

creating the perfect atmosphere for a great night's sleep!

Japanese Ryokan-Style Stay

Cave Ryokan Hotel is a retreat hotel designed around

a "cave" concept, meant to minimize city lights

and awaken your senses.

I stayed in the Plot A room, and

the moment I stepped inside, the ryokan aesthetic was absolutely palpable.

Along with the cozy bedding,

there's a traditional floor table and tea set,

making it the perfect spot to unwind with a warm cup of tea.

(The electric kettle is located in the drawer under the vanity.)

There’s also a vanity equipped with color-changing LED lights,

so I had a blast playing with the colors

and snapping tons of photos! haha

You can watch Netflix,

and the Wi-Fi is fast and reliable.

With a singing bowl and a Bluetooth speaker also provided,

the room was truly designed for ultimate healing and relaxation.

Amenities & Room Condition

As you'd expect from a brand-new hotel, both the room and the bathroom were absolutely spotless.

The water pressure was great, and they provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash,

along with super fluffy, fresh towels.

But what really blew me away was the amenity kit!

Not only did they have the basics like toothbrushes and toothpaste,

but they also provided foam cleanser, makeup remover, a shower loofah, a razor, feminine wash,

cotton pads, toner, and lotion.

You could literally show up empty-handed and be completely fine!

They even had a high-quality JMW hair dryer,

which has super strong airflow, making it so quick and easy to dry my hair!!

Right by the bed, there are outlets and a wireless charger,

plus a mini-fridge stocked with free bottled water in the room.

One detail I personally loved was the outdoor slippers!

They were so handy for quick trips to the convenience store or the lobby.

Dripping some scent onto the stone diffuser

instantly leveled up that cozy ryokan vibe :)

Self-Check-In System + Luggage Storage Service

Cave Ryokan Hotel by Aneuk

operates on a fully automated, contactless system.

You can easily check in using the kiosk,

which might actually feel way more comfortable and hassle-free

for those of us who are extreme introverts (proud MBTI 'I's!).

Just make sure to bring a valid ID with you!

On the 1st floor, there's a free coffee machine, a water dispenser,

a microwave, and disposable utensils ready for use.

There was also a super thoughtful service tailored perfectly for travelers visiting Daejeon:

a dedicated fridge just for storing Sungsimdang's famous 'Shiru' cakes!

Being able to keep it perfectly fresh and cool

was such an incredibly clever touch.

They also offer luggage storage, making this hotel super convenient

in so many ways if you're planning a trip to Daejeon.
