Le Bon Goûté Apgujeong Review: Parisian Terrace Brunch & Galettes

The weather has been absolutely delightful lately, perfect for enjoying brunch on a charming terrace. That's why I went searching for a spot in Apgujeong, and stumbled upon the incredibly atmospheric brunch haven, Le Bon Goûté!

Le Bon Goûté Location & Parking

Le Bon Goûté is tucked away on a secluded street near Dosan Park in Apgujeong.

From the moment you arrive, the entrance exudes a distinct Parisian terrace charm, making you forget you're still in Seoul :)

It's about a 10-minute walk from Apgujeong Station, and parking is super convenient with a valet booth right out front.

Valet parking costs ~$4 for two hours.

While the interior was also lovely and stylish, I absolutely adored the terrace seating!

It was perfect for the slightly cooler weather we've been having this autumn. This was exactly the terrace brunch spot vibe I was looking for!

Le Bon Goûté is renowned as a rare galette specialty restaurant in Korea.

I was particularly curious because Le Bon Goûté's galettes are notably made with buckwheat flour!

My friend and I, two women, originally planned to order just two dishes.

But we got so swept up in the French café ambiance (or so we told ourselves?)

that we added an onion soup!

Our dishes arrived shortly after!

The visual appeal of the galette, which I was most anticipating, was absolutely stunning, only heightening my excitement 🤗

The terrace was so picturesque, I couldn't stop taking photos!

My friend and I were both so thrilled, snapping pictures for ages until we realized our food was getting cold! We quickly got ourselves together, set our plates, and started eating.

First up, the onion soup.

From the perfectly caramelized onions to the fluffy baguette bread and the generous layer of mozzarella cheese on top, everything was absolutely perfect!

Often, when you order onion soup at French restaurants, the portion can feel a bit small, but Le Bon Goûté's onion soup was incredibly satisfying. As you can see in the photos, the baguette and cheese were very generously portioned, making it a hearty side dish.

Le Bon Goûté proudly introduces itself as 'Korea's #1 Galette Restaurant,' so it was the menu item I was most excited about before visiting.

I deliberated between the Salmon Galette and the Jambon Mushroom Galette, ultimately choosing the Jambon Mushroom Galette because I liked the idea of an egg on top. The combination of jambon, cheese, butter-infused mushrooms, and egg was fantastic, with a subtle hint of arugula adding a harmonious touch to the dish.

I wondered what the texture of a buckwheat galette would be like, but it was incredibly soft, savory, and delicious!

Galettes are one of my absolute favorite French dishes, and I was so happy to find such a delicious one right here in Seoul. 🥹

Le Bon Goûté's pasta menu is simple, offering just three options: Lemon Pasta, Bolognese Ragu, and Shrimp Mushroom Cream Pasta.

Since both the onion soup and galette were cream-based, we decided to order the tomato-based Bolognese Ragu Pasta.

In conclusion, it was an excellent combination!

We started with the warm onion soup, moved on to the smooth galette, and finished with the clean and satisfying ragu pasta.

The Bolognese sauce was rich with meat and toppings, and the texture was fantastic, pairing perfectly with the shell-shaped conchiglie pasta.

With Monet paintings on the walls, a map of France, and French cookbooks inside, it truly felt like being in a Parisian restaurant. I was able to indulge in the feeling of a brief getaway :)

I also appreciated that the restroom was clean and conveniently located inside.

It brought back vivid memories of dining on a terrace during my trip to Paris!

On a beautiful afternoon, I wholeheartedly recommend Le Bon Goûté as a delicious and atmospheric brunch spot in Apgujeong!

Seriously, you absolutely must try their galettes! I'm already planning my next visit to try the Salmon Galette 😋
