Looking for a budget-friendly alternative to Sejong hotels? Discover why Anuk Hotel & Spa in Daejeon is the perfect hot spring getaway with top-tier amenities.

Preparing for an upcoming move to Sejong City in 2026, I traveled up from Jeju Island to check out the area.
While Sejong was my main destination, hotel rates there were surprisingly high—often pushing past ~$128 per night. As a smart alternative, I decided to book a stay in neighboring Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, where accommodations are much more budget-friendly.
Not only is Yuseong incredibly close and convenient for commuting to Sejong, but it's also famous for its natural hot springs. The Yuseong Hot Springs district is packed with hotels, offering plenty of great options.

After comparing several spots, I chose Anuk Hotel & Spa Daejeon Yuseong, nestled right next to the scenic Yuseongcheon stream.
My stay came with both delightful surprises and a few minor drawbacks. If you're looking for an affordable alternative to Sejong hotels or a relaxing hot spring getaway, here is my honest review.

Originally, I looked at staying directly in Sejong, but the prices were quite steep—easily exceeding ~$128 per night during my search window.
By contrast, hotels in Daejeon's Yuseong-gu offered a much wider range of choices at highly competitive rates, while still keeping the commute to Sejong quick and easy. Plus, the prospect of relaxing in natural hot spring water at the end of the day was a massive selling point.
After scanning through countless reviews, I booked Anuk Hotel & Spa Daejeon Yuseong, which consistently boasted some of the highest guest ratings in the area.
One important detail to keep in mind is that there are multiple Anuk Hotel branches near Yuseong Spa Station.
To avoid any confusion, make sure to double-check the exact address of your branch before heading out.
The branch I stayed at is located right by the Yuseongcheon stream, a pleasant and easy 10-minute walk (about 0.5 miles) from Yuseong Spa Station.

Self check-in kiosks are available.
The official check-in time is rather late at 8:00 PM. Since I arrived much earlier in the day, I dropped off my luggage at the front desk first, went out to explore, and returned around 8:40 PM to complete my check-in.

I originally booked a Standard Room through the NOL app, but the front desk kindly upgraded me to a Business Room on arrival. While room upgrades are subject to availability, it's always a wonderful perk to look forward to!

At the reception desk, you can purchase bath bombs and extra amenities.
Since every room is supplied with natural hot spring water, grabbing a bath bomb is a fantastic way to elevate your soaking experience in the comfort of your room.

Another delightful feature of this hotel is the complimentary ramen bar.
Guests are treated to one free package of ramen per room. I was on a diet at the time, so I had to skip it, but the mouthwatering aroma wafting through the lobby was incredibly tempting!

The room featured a modern black-and-white color palette, giving it a clean, sleek, and calming atmosphere.
Equipped with a plush queen-sized bed, a massive 65-inch TV, an LG Styler (steam closet), and a spacious bathtub, it had everything needed for both leisure travelers and business professionals.

One of my absolute favorite room features was the LG Styler.
After grabbing dinner at a nearby restaurant, my clothes had picked up a bit of a food odor. Tossing them into the Styler left them smelling fresh and looking crisp. It’s an incredibly handy amenity to have when you're living out of a suitcase.

Of course, the crown jewel of this hotel is the bathtub.
The tub is exceptionally spacious, allowing you to stretch out and fully unwind. Knowing that the water flowing from the tap is authentic, mineral-rich hot spring water made the soak feel incredibly therapeutic.

The room also featured a traditional tea set, allowing me to brew a warm cup of tea and enjoy some quiet, meditative downtime after my bath.
While my overall experience was highly positive, there were a couple of minor quirks worth noting.

The main issue was the shower handle.
When running hot water, the metal handle of the shower fixture absorbed the heat directly, becoming almost too hot to touch. I had to be very careful when adjusting the flow.
Additionally, because it is genuine hot spring water, the water pressure and temperature are incredibly strong. Finding that perfect lukewarm sweet spot on the faucet required a very delicate touch, which took a little getting used to.
As a reminder, because the Anuk Hotel brand has several locations around Yuseong Spa Station, double-check your booking confirmation to make sure you head to the correct property.
Rates can fluctuate depending on the season and day of the week, so I highly recommend checking real-time rates before finalizing your plans.

Choosing Daejeon as an alternative to Sejong's pricey hotels turned out to be an excellent decision.
The spacious tub, in-room natural hot spring water, and modern conveniences like the LG Styler far exceeded my expectations, and the quick commute to Sejong was incredibly seamless.
Despite the late 8:00 PM check-in and the hot shower handle, the sheer value for money makes this hotel a highly recommended stay.
If you are looking for a budget-friendly alternative to Sejong accommodations, or simply want to experience a relaxing, private hot spring getaway in Daejeon, Anuk Hotel & Spa is a fantastic choice.
The check-in time is relatively late, at 8:00 PM. However, you can visit earlier during the day to leave your luggage at the front desk, allowing you to enjoy your schedule conveniently.
All rooms are equipped with a spacious bathtub supplied with natural hot spring water, a clothing styler for garment care, and a tea set. Additionally, guests have access to a ramen bar that provides one free packet of ramen per room.
When using hot water, the heat can transfer to the showerhead handle, making it very hot, so please be careful when holding it. Also, since the water pressure and temperature are quite strong, you need to adjust the faucet delicately to get your desired water temperature.
There are several other branches of the A-neuk Hotel brand located around Yuseong Spa Station. When booking, you must double-check the exact branch name and location to ensure it is the Daejeon Yuseong branch, which is located right next to Yuseongcheon Stream.
