An unmissable part of any Jeju trip?
A charming cafe tour, of course!
Aewol, in particular, has so many beautiful cafes that it's always tough to choose where to go.
Today, I'm excited to introduce Golmok Cafe Oksu, a Jeju Aewol cafe brimming with vintage traditional house vibes.
Nestled in an alley in Sogil-ri village, Aewol-eup, Jeju City, this cafe beautifully preserves a traditional Jeju house with its retro interior. Combined with the peaceful village atmosphere, it feels like visiting your grandmother's house – truly a comfortable and cozy spot.
Plus, with their adorable mascot dog, Momo, by your side, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, and atmospheric cafe experience in Jeju.

Exterior / Interior
Golmok Cafe Oksu in Jeju Aewol is surrounded by black basalt stone walls, blending in so naturally that you might miss it if you walk by!
You'll need to look carefully for the small sign nestled within the stone wall.

Once you step inside the stone wall,
you'll discover an old door and a small courtyard,
exuding a warm atmosphere that feels just like visiting your grandmother's house.

The cafe beautifully preserves the traditional Jeju house,
meaning you take off your shoes before entering.

With wooden floors, antique furniture, and vintage decor scattered throughout,
it's packed with traditional Jeju house charm and a retro mood.

Seating is divided into left and right wings, and there are even outdoor spots,
so whether you come alone or with friends, you can relax comfortably.

Especially, the window view was framed like a picture,
and I really enjoyed just gazing blankly at the scenery outside.
It’s the perfect spot to take a short break during your Jeju trip.

Review
I've been to countless cafes in Jeju,
but this place has a warmth I've never experienced before.

The props by the entrance, like the broom and basket,
somehow felt charming and welcoming.

It’s a space where photos turn out great, and you feel healed just by sitting there.

Inside, there's also a small attic-like space,
which was perfect for a cozy rest,
and just mindlessly gazing at the scenery through the window was the absolute best.

And then there's Momo, the mascot of this place.
A Scottish Terrier, she wanders around, greeting people everywhere she goes.

About Momo:
Do not disturb when she's sleeping.
Do not touch her suddenly.
She dislikes being petted on the head.

The owner personally brings the drinks to your table.
The Oksu-peño is a latte-style Einspänner,
a signature menu item at Golmok Cafe Oksu,
featuring an enticing combination of smooth cream and sweet coffee.

It was sweet, perfect for a sugar boost during the trip.
While the selection of desserts wasn't extensive,
they were well-paired with coffee,
and even the vintage plates and cutlery added to the aesthetic!
