I'm thrilled to share a true hidden gem we recently stumbled upon in Seoul's vibrant Jongno and Insadong area.

My partner and I were on the hunt for a cozy spot with delicious bites and a refreshing beer late one evening near our hotel.

That's when my partner, with a sparkle in their eye, discovered a place that caught their attention!

It's called 'Adamjib,' an izakaya located at the very end of an Insadong alley.

We paid for everything ourselves, and let me tell you, both the atmosphere and the food exceeded our expectations! I couldn't wait to share this find with you.❤️

Just like its name suggests (Adam means 'cozy' or 'small' in Korean), the interior of Adamjib feels intimate and welcoming.

You'll find about 3-4 two-person tables, alongside an L-shaped bar counter that wraps around the kitchen.

It's also incredibly solo-traveler friendly, making it an ideal spot if you're looking for a relaxed solo drink in Jongno.

We saw plenty of couples like us, as well as groups of friends enjoying conversations, which created a lively yet wonderfully warm ambiance overall.

One of the most convenient features was their QR code ordering system!

Each table has a QR code, so even during peak hours, you can easily place your order from your seat without needing to flag down a server.

(Don't worry, they also have charming physical menus if you prefer a more traditional touch!)

1. Okonomiyaki (~$15)

Our piping hot Okonomiyaki arrived sizzling, straight from the kitchen!

The generous drizzle of sweet and savory sauce was an absolute flavor bomb – totally my kind of dish!

It was surprisingly large, more than enough for two of us to share as a satisfying beer snack.

Crispy on the outside and wonderfully tender on the inside, every bite practically begged for another sip of beer.

2. Assorted Skewers (Small) (~$14)

I'll admit, I was a little worried that the 'small' size of the assorted skewers wouldn't be enough, but those worries vanished the moment they arrived!

We were treated to a fantastic selection of about seven different types of skewers, a truly generous spread.

Bacon-wrapped cherry tomatoes, ginkgo nuts, eggplant, chicken heart, chicken gizzard, chicken wings, and more.

⭐The bacon-wrapped cherry tomatoes⭐ were an absolute standout – a burst of juicy flavor with every bite!

From the chewy chicken hearts and gizzards to the savory chicken wings, the variety and quality made this a fantastic value.

✨Overall & Revisit Intention

While we opted for refreshing draft beer, we noticed many other patrons enjoying Japanese shochu.

Adamjib boasts an impressive selection of Japanese spirits, from various shochu options to delicious highballs.

On our next visit, I'm already planning to pair a warm plate of assorted oden with a glass of shochu – sounds like the perfect combination!

If you're near Jongno, Insadong, or Ikseon-dong and looking for a late-night spot with a great atmosphere, tasty food, and a good drink, I wholeheartedly recommend 'Adamjib'!
