On our final day in Jeju, we decided to squeeze in some high-speed action and try out go-karting! Since it was my very first time, my heart was racing with excitement and a bit of nerves.

Oh my goodness, the Jeju wind was absolutely wild today! It felt like it was trying to blow us away.

But despite the crazy wind, look at that gorgeous, clear blue sky! Talk about perfect weather for an outdoor adventure.

We booked our tickets in advance and received a barcode on our phones. When you arrive, just head straight to the ticket booth to exchange it for your physical boarding passes.

Pro tip: If you think you'll want more than one round, look into the multi-ride passes. Buying a two-ride ticket upfront is much cheaper than paying for a second single ride later. It's totally worth it if you get hooked!

I was pleasantly surprised by their hygiene standards! Since the helmets are shared, they actually provide disposable inner hair caps to wear on your head first. It's a small detail, but it made me feel so much better about putting the helmet on.

Look at me rocking the hairnet, haha! Quite a look, right? They also have free lockers on-site, which I highly recommend using. Definitely lock away your phone and loose items—you don't want your phone flying out of your pocket onto the track!

Make sure to read through the safety rules before heading out.

We opted for individual single karts so we could race each other. The controls are simple: left pedal is stop (brake), right pedal is go (gas). Just remember never to press both at the same time! Usually, just letting go of the gas will slow you down, so you really only need the brake when parking.

Riding so close to the ground makes the speed feel incredibly intense! There were about four other groups on the track with us, and oh my gosh... everyone was zooming past me like professional racers. As someone who has a driver's license but rarely drives (the classic 'closet driver'), I was definitely the slowest one out there, haha!

You need to present the barcode sent to your phone at the ticket office to exchange it for a ticket. You can board the kart once the barcode is verified on-site.
Disposable hair caps are provided to wear before putting on a shared helmet. This ensures that the helmets used by multiple people remain hygienic.
You can store your valuables in the lockers provided on-site. It is especially recommended to put your phone in a locker, as it may fall out of your pocket while driving.
The left pedal is for stopping and the right pedal is for accelerating; you must not press both pedals at the same time. While driving, simply taking your foot off the accelerator will slow the kart down. We advise using the brake mainly for parking.
