Did you know that Seoul's iconic landmark, the 63 Building, has been transformed into a stunning, photo-worthy hotspot that easily rivals SUMMIT One Vanderbilt in New York? From the 63rd-floor rooftop helipad opened to the public for the first time in 16 years, to a unique Starbucks experience high up in the clouds! This weekend, I visited '63 Sky Picnic' in Yeouido, where you can soak in breathtaking panoramic city views without having to fly all the way to New York. Before you go, let me share the ultimate breakdown of everything you need to know—from ticket prices and booking tips to discounts and parking info!
1. Visiting Yeouido 63 Building Sky Picnic: Observatory Vibes
Tickets, Booking, Discounts, & Parking

With summer in full swing, the hot and humid weather might make you hesitate to plan outdoor dates or weekend picnics. If you're looking for a cool, refreshing indoor spot with stunning views, Yeouido's 63 Building is the perfect escape! I heard it was recently remodeled to capture those trendy New York SUMMIT vibes, so I just had to check it out right away.

📍 Location: 60F, 63 Building, 50 63-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul
⏰ Hours: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM daily (Last ticketing at 9:30 PM)
You can easily find it by entering through the Centre Pompidou entrance and following the signs. Note that even if you buy your tickets online in advance, you still need to line up at the counter to exchange them for physical tickets.

💰 Ticket Prices & Discount Booking Tips
Category | Regular Price | Discounted Price |
Adults | ~$17 | ~$16 |
Children | ~$15 | ~$13 |
How to Book | On-site Payment | Online Purchase ▶ 🔗Buy Discounted Tickets |
The regular ticket price for the 63 Sky Picnic observatory is ~$17 for adults and ~$15 for children. While you can purchase tickets on-site, booking online gets you a 10% discount. I queued up to buy mine on the spot on the day of my visit, but please note that having the QR code is essential for entry.

I actually purchased a ticket through another platform on the same day, but they only sent a barcode instead of a QR code. Since it couldn't be scanned at the entrance, I had to buy a new one right next to the counter. You can easily secure your discounted tickets using the link below to avoid any hassle.

Alternatively, if you visit the Centre Pompidou gallery, you can get a 30% discount on your Sky Picnic tickets. Catching an exhibition and then heading up to the observatory makes for the perfect day out!

Before stepping inside, there's a unique step to prevent scratches and dirt on the mirrored floors. Usually, places like this make you wear those annoying fabric shoe covers, but this place is on a whole different level!
All you have to do is lightly step on the designated machine, and a transparent protective film automatically wraps and seals itself perfectly to the bottom of your shoes—a truly high-tech (?) experience. Unlike loose shoe covers, it fits snugly and cleanly, making it so much easier and more comfortable to walk around. From the moment you step in, the trendy observatory vibes immediately set in, making me super excited for what was to come.

🚗 Parking Information
Weekdays | Weekends |
1 hour free | 2 hours free |
Additional fee: ~$1 per 10 minutes |
You can validate your parking at the ticket booth after showing your same-day ticket. Please note that parking fees cannot be refunded if you exit without validating your parking discount beforehand. You can combine validation with other establishments in the building, and free parking is available for up to 3 hours on weekdays and 4 hours on weekends.
2. A New York Summit vibe high in the sky: 63 Sky Picnic Zone Tour

Far more than just a typical observatory, 63 Sky Picnic is packed with colorful concepts on every floor, making you feel as if you've stepped right into a futuristic media art observatory in New York.
60F: The Art of Light and Mirrors, Indoor Media Art Observatory

Stepping out of the elevator onto the 60th floor, you're immediately greeted by hundreds of mirrors and brilliant holograms. The "Immersive Media Theater," where walls, ceilings, and floors are all mirrored, endlessly reflecting the Han River view, was absolutely breathtaking! It's the main photo zone, giving you that incredible sense of openness and vibe unique to New York's SUMMIT, where every single shot is Instagram-worthy.
63F: The Long-Awaited Highlight Unveiled After 16 Years, Outdoor Rooftop

After exploring the indoors, head up to the highly anticipated 63rd-floor outdoor rooftop (formerly the helipad). This outdoor rooftop had been closed to the public, but it has finally been renovated and opened, offering a truly unique observatory experience. Standing in an open-air space where the barrier of glass is completely gone, feeling the Seoul breeze on your face while looking out at the skyline is absolute bliss. If you visit on a clear day or during sunset, the sight of the Han River glowing in shades of crimson is doubly moving. This is where I spent the most time, and the sunset was absolutely spectacular.
60F: A Feast of Light and Holograms, 'Special Exhibition Hall' (feat. New York Summit Balloon Room Vibes!)

Just past the main 60th-floor observatory, you'll find the Special Exhibition Hall—a can't-miss, major photo spot at 63 Sky Picnic.
Here, you'll find glowing holographic balls (balloon-like art installations) filling up the room against the beautiful backdrop of the Han River! With mirrors and glass reflecting on all sides, it perfectly captures the dreamy, trendy vibe of New York SUMMIT's famous "silver balloon room." Snap a photo with the floating holographic spheres and the Han River in the background, and you're guaranteed an incredible shot every time, so make sure your camera is ready!
60F: The World's Highest 'Starbucks 63 Sky Picnic Branch'

Inside the observatory, there's a Starbucks where you can unwind with a cup of coffee while gazing down at the Han River. They even have exclusive signature drinks you can only get at this specific location, so find a great spot with a view and enjoy! When I visited during sunset, it was already fully packed, so I had to skip it. If you can snag a seat with that gorgeous view, I highly recommend taking a break there.

3. Honest Review of Yeouido 63 Building Observatory Sky Picnic

Think again if you're imagining the old-school, analog 63 Building observatory! The harmony between the sophisticated media art and the open-air outdoor rooftop was incredibly refreshing. While the panoramic daytime view of the Han River is gorgeous, I highly recommend arriving right as the golden sunset begins so you can stay for the stunning night views. If you're looking for a perfect Seoul date spot or a family day out to experience a unique picnic with a touch of New York flair, how about heading to 63 Sky Picnic this weekend?
