If you're exploring Weihai, China, there's one extraordinary spot you absolutely can't miss:

the Xixiakou Wildlife Park, where you can actually feed giraffes up close and personal!✨

Known as Asia's largest coastal wildlife park, its sheer size means there's plenty to see.

But what truly makes it famous is the chance to interact with giraffes and even

share a meal with them right before your eyes!

The Giraffe Restaurant at Xixiakou Wildlife Park is located at the very end of the zoo.

Expect about a 1.5 to 2-hour walk to reach it!

Since you can only feed giraffes from the window seats, these spots get incredibly popular

during peak lunch hours. To avoid a scramble for a table, I recommend arriving

a little earlier or later than the main rush 😉

Here's a pro tip👏🏻 Don't just settle for the first tables you see upon entering.

Head further inside, and you'll find more window tables that open up!

Many people don't realize these inner tables exist, so they tend to cluster at the front.

Make sure to explore a bit further in!

My friend and I ordered the spicy chicken burger set for two, which cost 76 Chinese Yuan,

equivalent to ~$10.

Considering it included two chicken burgers, fries, chicken nuggets, and two Cokes,

I thought ~$10 was quite reasonable for a tourist attraction!😆

Even better, the chicken patty inside the bun was surprisingly substantial, and the taste was pretty good!

I admit I had some low expectations, but it tasted just like a regular fast-food burger, which was perfectly fine, and great value for the price😊

It was a hot day, so being able to enjoy a cold Coke made the Giraffe Restaurant a perfect spot to catch our breath. So refreshing!

Weihai Xixiakou Wildlife Park Giraffe Restaurant Feeding Experience

To participate in the giraffe feeding experience at the Giraffe Restaurant,

you'll need to purchase giraffe feed separately!

It costs ~$3 for one container (20 Chinese Yuan) and ~$5 for two containers (30 Chinese Yuan).

You can buy it at the counter, and the staff will direct you where to pick up the feed.

Once you have the feed, the giraffes will naturally approach the window.

If the window is closed, you can open it yourself, though a staff member did help us as it was a bit stiff😂

Don't worry, the staff are all very friendly and helpful!

When you hold out the food, the giraffe will extend its long tongue to take it.

Be careful not to give it all at once in a hurry, or you might miss your photo opportunity!

A little playful 'keep-away' with the giraffe is needed to get those perfect shots, haha.

There aren't many pieces of feed, maybe about five, so you'll want to

snap videos and photos quickly to capture the moment!

Giraffes can snatch the food in an instant, so try to feed them slowly and get those amazing pictures❤️

It was a little embarrassing having everyone watch us feed them, but it was worth it for the photos, haha!

The giraffe's tongue felt surprisingly rough and peculiar, which made for a truly unique experience (≧∇≦)ﾉ

For a truly special experience where you can directly feed giraffes,

the Xixiakou Wildlife Park Giraffe Restaurant is the place to be!

You might think, "Isn't it just another zoo?" but this park is genuinely massive,

and it's a joy to explore all the animals. What really impressed me was the

excellent living conditions for the animals 😍

Plus, the unique experience of having lunch while feeding giraffes makes this a

highly recommended stop for any Weihai itinerary!

It's also conveniently located near attractions like the Jinshawan Art Park Seaweed House

and the Shipwreck Birbus, so you can easily group them together for a fantastic Weihai tour.
