Weihai Tianmu Hot Springs: Incredible Value for Money
Text and Photos by: Today's Clear Sky
Weihai isn't just about the ocean; it also boasts hot springs, offering a chance for even deeper relaxation. This time, we visited Weihai Tianmu Hot Springs, conveniently located not far from the airport, making it a perfect spot to start or end your journey. It was my first time experiencing hot springs in China, and I had high expectations – they certainly didn't disappoint with their immense scale! Today, I'll be sharing my review of the Tianmu Hot Springs Hotel based on my direct experience.

Weihai Tianmu Hot Springs Resort Layout
This isn't just a single building; it's a vast resort complex centered around a lake, comprising the Main Building (Old Wing), New Wing (Tianmu Pavilion/Tianmu Zheng), and detached villas.
Main Building (Old Wing): Close to the hot spring facilities with convenient access, but the facilities feel a bit older.
New Wing (e.g., Tianmu Pavilion): Recently built or renovated, with cleaner and more modern facilities.

A Tranquil Lake View: Our Stay in the Old Wing
Our stay was in the Twin Room at Wall Sin Court in the Old Wing. While the building itself felt a bit dated, it was well-maintained, free of cigarette smoke, and very clean. What I particularly loved was the serene lake view that unfolded when we opened the window – it was truly beautiful and atmospheric. The tranquil scenery, imbued with a sense of time, actually made it even more relaxing. If you're looking for great value and a picturesque view, the Old Wing is definitely charming enough.
If you prefer more modern and pristine facilities, a tip is to choose a New Wing room like the Tianmu Pavilion when booking.

Tianmu Hot Springs Outdoor Baths
One of the biggest advantages of Tianmu Hot Springs Hotel is that guests receive two hot spring passes during their stay. You can visit once on the evening of your arrival and enjoy the hot springs one more time before checkout... but it was too cold the next day, so I couldn't go. I imagine it would be more peaceful and the water even better in the morning, so I highly recommend making sure to use both passes.

The absolute highlight of Tianmu Hot Springs is undoubtedly its outdoor baths. Befitting a continental hot spring, it's said to have over 60 diverse themed pools. Even though it was a weekend and there were many people, the sheer size meant it didn't feel as crowded as I expected. Soaking in the warm water while feeling the cool air on my nose completely melted away the fatigue from my travels.

The staff here were truly impressive. Their kindness was incredible; they were quick to assist without even being asked. They'd pass by and offer tea, or give disposable lens wipes to guests wearing glasses. It really seemed like they had received systematic and thorough training.

📌 Tianmu Hot Spring Usage Tips
Don't forget to bring your swimsuit when using the hot spring.
Lockers, towels, and slippers are all provided at the hot spring, so there's no need to bring items from your room.
The hot spring is located up a hill from the old wing.
Hotel Restaurant Experience and Breakfast Review
The only drawback here is the lack of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. You'll need to either bring your own food or plan on dining exclusively at the hotel restaurant. We opted for dinner at the hotel, and the stir-fried vegetables and Guo Bao Rou (sweet and sour pork) we ordered were surprisingly delicious, making for a truly satisfying meal.

Breakfast for two was included in our accommodation fee. In the morning, you can take a small electric cart operated by the hotel, and riding it while enjoying the lake view was quite a delightful little experience. The breakfast was served buffet-style, offering a wide variety of dishes, and the food itself was excellent.

The Joy of ~$44 per Night: Tianmu Hot Spring Booking Tips
The Weihai Tianmu Hot Spring Hotel truly stands out for its incredible value. Even with breakfast for two and hot spring access (a generous two entries!) all included, we managed to book it for approximately ~$44 per night. Considering the 5-star resort facilities and spacious outdoor hot springs, it's an unbelievable price.
Using the hot spring separately can be quite costly, but staying overnight allows you to leisurely enjoy the springs twice, making it a much better deal. If you're planning a trip to Weihai, I highly recommend this as an essential stop to unwind and recharge on your last day.

Today's Bright Spot: One Last Tip
Beyond the walking trails, there isn't much else to visit directly around Tianmu Hot Spring Resort. If your itinerary is very tight, it's wise to consider travel time carefully before choosing this destination.
The staff at Tianmu Hot Spring Resort and the hot spring itself were incredibly friendly and impressive, making my entire stay delightful. With its excellent value for money, warm hospitality, and the soothing healing of the hot springs, it was the perfect place to wrap up my Weihai trip on a high note.
