One of the most enchanting sunset spots we discovered in Weihai was undoubtedly the Golden Bay Bridge. ✨

This pier stretches far out into the sea, making it the perfect place to capture those dreamy, atmospheric photos, especially when the sun dips below the horizon in the evening, rather than during the day!

It's a popular attraction not just with tourists but also with local Chinese residents. We were absolutely captivated by its beauty when we visited – it truly exceeded our expectations. 💕

How to Get to Weihai's Golden Bay Bridge on Your Itinerary

The Golden Bay Bridge is a scenic promenade located right next to the Golden Bay Hotel. It's also known by several names, including Golden Bay Pier or simply, Golden Bay Bridge.

Even if you're not staying at the Golden Bay Hotel, you can enter for free, which makes it super convenient to visit. 😉

It's perfectly situated near other famous Weihai attractions, such as the Weihai International Beach, the Instagram-famous Torch 8th Street (Huogebajia), and another fantastic sunset spot, the CCTV Sunset Ancient City. We highly recommend bundling these into a single day's itinerary!

From Torch 8th Street, it's just a 10-minute taxi ride to CCTV Sunset Ancient City, and then another 15-minute taxi ride from there to the Golden Bay Bridge – so they're all incredibly close. Haha!

For ease of navigation, when using Chinese taxi apps like DiDi or Gaode Maps, search for the Golden Bay Bridge by its Chinese name: 金海湾栈桥.

To find the Golden Bay Bridge, simply head to the Golden Bay Hotel parking lot and look for the path leading down to the left.

You absolutely won't get lost (≧∇≦)ﾉ, as everyone else will be heading in the same direction!

Just follow the path down, and you'll quickly see the Golden Bay Bridge, so there's no need to worry. Haha!

Since Weihai is a coastal city and the Golden Bay Bridge extends out into the sea, it can get a bit chilly in the evening!

Even when I visited in early summer of 2026, it was a bit cool at night, so a light jacket is definitely a must-have. 👍

The Golden Bay Bridge is open for free admission from 9 AM to 9 PM. However, since it's renowned as a premier sunset spot, we highly recommend visiting between 6 PM and 8 PM. 😍

While the Golden Bay Bridge does light up later at night, it can be a bit dark and potentially feel less safe, so it might not be as impressive as during sunset.

We made sure to visit during sunset, and the stunning harmony of the golden sun and the sparkling sea was absolutely breathtaking. We definitely felt like we made the right choice visiting in the evening!

This bridge extends directly into the sea, allowing you to walk forward for about 0.25 miles (over 1,300 feet)!

It truly feels like a "promenade over the ocean," with the sea so close, and you can enjoy a surprisingly long walk. Haha!

We even walked to the very end, but it was quite crowded, and the photos didn't turn out as beautifully as we hoped. We think taking pictures closer to the entrance yields better results. 😆

The setting sun, casting its reddish glow, and the shimmering sea reflecting the sunlight truly evoked a scene straight out of the movie "La La Land"!

This Weihai photo zone has become famous for its "La La Land" aesthetic, and it's genuinely stunning – we spent ages just admiring it. Haha!

It's such a romantic spot; if you visit as a couple for a date, you might just find your love deepening even more. ❤️

The wind can be quite strong, but if you strike a pose as if you're not cold, you can capture some truly beautiful photos. 😂
