That's exactly how I felt when I decided to check out the **Capybara Foot Spa Cafe** on Qixia Street (栖霞街).

This foot spa cafe on Qixia Street was a highlight of my Weihai itinerary, perfect for an off-the-beaten-path experience.

It's a fantastic spot to relax with a natural hot spring foot soak, meet adorable capybaras, and enjoy some tea and snacks – truly a healing oasis.

The official name of the cafe is 卫东汤·手足汤体验馆(栖霞街店), which translates to **Weidongtang Hand and Foot Hot Spring Experience Center** (Qixia Street Branch).

2. Store Exterior/Interior Atmosphere

You'll find it right at the beginning of Qixia Street.

Upon arrival, a charming capybara statue and clear signage will confirm you're in the right place.

The interior is also delightfully decorated with capybara themes.

It's so cute, you'll be charmed before you even step inside!

They even sell capybara merchandise, making it easy to grab a unique souvenir or gift.

3. Operating Hours & Price Range

While individual services are available, they also offer fantastic set menus.

These sets cater to groups from one to four people, and for two or more, they include the foot soak, tea, fruit, and snacks.

A 2-person set costs 118 Chinese Yuan (CNY), which is roughly ~$17, and gives you 90 minutes to enjoy. I highly recommend going for a set!

Capybara feed costs 20 CNY per basket, which is about ~$3.

4. How to Enjoy the Foot Spa

After paying, you'll receive instructions for entry.

We stored our shoes in lockers and changed into disposable slippers before heading in.

Once inside, you'll see a spacious area. It looks like you can sit here too, though I didn't personally try this section.

I opted for a seat with a view of the outside, and the tables are wonderfully private.

Warm water was already flowing, and it felt like natural hot spring water. There was a faint, pleasant sulfur scent.

Each spot comes with disposable towels, perfect for drying your feet after the soak.

They have not only 4-person tables but also 6-person tables, so it's great for families or larger groups.

Once we settled in, they brought out the capybara feed. There's a generous amount, so I'd suggest just buying one basket.

For tea, we received a pot of richly brewed Oolong, which was incredibly warming and comforting.

The fruit was an apple, and since Weihai is known for its apples, it was delightfully sweet and delicious.

We also got crackers in various flavors – they were so tasty, I almost wanted to buy a whole box of each!

The water temperature was just right. Soaking my feet for an extended period really warmed me up and made me feel refreshed and healthy.

5. Capybara Feeding Experience

To meet the capybaras, you'll head into a separate room specifically designed for them.

When I visited, there were two capybaras. As soon as I walked in, they seemed to know I had food and came right over!

Can you tell how serious they are about their snacks? They stretch up, practically standing on their hind legs, to grab the food – it's absolutely adorable.

It was fantastic to have such a unique animal encounter at a foot spa cafe! It's perfect for families with kids, and couples would enjoy it too.

Just a heads-up: they can be a bit messy eaters, so expect some vegetable juice on the floor!

These gentle, calm creatures made the feeding experience incredibly relaxing. It was also easy to take plenty of photos and videos.

If you're tired from exploring all the usual tourist spots, this is a wonderful place to relax with a foot soak. With tables up to 6 people, it's very family-friendly, even with kids.
