I recently explored the bustling street food night market stretching along the beachfront road of Weihai International Beach.

When you think of famous night markets in Weihai, Hanlefang Night Market or Qishajie Food Street might immediately come to mind. However, this particular spot is perfect if you've booked accommodation near Weihai International Beach or simply fancy a casual evening stroll along the shore.

The exact opening hours and the specific lineup of street food stalls can vary slightly depending on the season and day of the week. So, for this 2026 guide, I'll focus on my personal experience, the route I walked, and the delicious street food I sampled during my visit.

1. Atmosphere of Weihai International Beach Night Market

After catching a beautiful sunset at Weihai International Beach and stopping by a beach bar on the sand, I arrived at the street food stalls around 9:00 PM.

Let me tell you about the night market's location. It's about half a mile (a 10-minute walk) from Huage 8th Street. Since Weihai International Beach is quite long, you can typically reach the market within a 10-minute walk from almost anywhere along the main beach stretch.

The main entrance to the market is right in front of 'Dabaifan Square (大白帆广场),' the central hub of Weihai International Beach.

While I can't give you exact operating hours, I first saw the street food stalls setting up around 6:00 PM, and I finished my takeaways between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. As it's a night market, it likely stays open even later into the evening.

By day, this area is a peaceful beach promenade, but as evening falls, the street transforms as vendors set up their stalls one by one, turning it into a vibrant night market.

Heading towards the main square entrance of the beach, you'll find a long line of street food stalls stretching along the coastline.

Each stall offered a diverse array of treats. Grilled skewers, like lamb and squid, were the most popular, but you could also find grilled seafood such as clams and oysters, various stir-fried dishes, and even tempting desserts mixed in.

Around 9:00 PM, the market was quite bustling with people. Once the food street ends, you'll also find numerous other vendors selling a variety of goods, from souvenirs to other interesting items.

While not always full-blown queues, many stalls had people patiently waiting for their orders.

Since my accommodation was close to Weihai International Beach, I decided to grab some delicious takeaways for a late-night snack!

2. Street Food Review

I wished I could try everything at the night market, but I had already eaten dinner, so I could only order a few things.

My first order was for Pork Skewers. The vendor was so incredibly friendly that I was drawn to his stall!

They were about ~$3 for two skewers, and payment is typically done via QR code using Alipay. The vendor grilled them fresh right in front of me.

Since they were grilled with cumin (zì rán), they tasted quite similar to Korean pork sanjeok, offering a familiar yet exotic flavor.

Even after taking them back to my room and eating them cooled, there was no unpleasant odor, and they were surprisingly good. The meat was tender and easy to chew!

My second order was for Grilled Cold Noodles (Liangmian Kao). I was curious because a few people were lining up for them. Payment was also made via Alipay QR code, and the price was about ~$3.

Unlike the cold noodle soup we typically think of, this 'grilled cold noodle' dish is cooked on a hot griddle.

Crispy grilled noodles are thinly coated with egg, then topped with a savory red sauce and diced sausage.

If you're sensitive to cilantro (xiāngcài), make sure to ask them to omit it when you order.

The female vendor was incredibly friendly and asked about each topping as she added it. I'd definitely want to visit her stall again on my next trip!

It had a spicy kick, similar to Korean 'Buldak Bokkeummyun' (spicy stir-fried noodles), with cheese melted on top, all rolled up like a pancake.

The finely diced sausage added a nice texture, and I could faintly taste the cilantro as I chewed.

I took them back to my accommodation and enjoyed them as a late-night snack with a drink while watching YouTube on my laptop.

Travelers seeking a more local vibe than the famous Hanlefang or Qishajie night markets: While not huge, the friendly vendors create a charming and authentic local experience.
