Penang is absolutely brimming with secret treasures just waiting to be discovered.

Beyond the countless amazing eateries, you'll find an abundance of Instagram-worthy cafes and charming lifestyle shops tucked away in every alley.

While strolling through George Town, I stumbled upon the most adorable lifestyle store, and I just had to share it with you.

It's called Timeless Design.

Timeless Design Location & Hours

Location

Timeless Design is conveniently located on Beach Street.

It's pretty close to the Wonderfood Museum, so it makes for a perfect stop to cool off and browse around after your museum visit.

Opening Hours (as of September 2026)

Mon-Thu: 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM

Fri-Sun: 09:00 AM - 09:00 PM

While Google might list slightly different hours, indicating closing at 6 PM on weekends and being closed on Sundays, I visited on a Saturday evening around 8:30 PM and they were still open. So, the exact Sunday closing status isn't entirely clear.

The operating hours sign inside the shop belongs to the cafe that shares the space, and it's likely the shop follows similar timings.

Exploring Timeless Design

From furniture to household goods and stationery, they offer a wonderfully diverse selection of items.

They also carry clothing, accessories, hand washes, and room sprays.

There was also a great selection of diffusers, and what really caught my eye were the ones labeled with **Malaysian food and drink names**.

I saw diffusers named after dishes like **Nasi Lemak and Tom Yum**! I honestly wondered, "Who would want their home smelling like that?" But when I sniffed them, they just had lovely, normal diffuser scents. Phew!🤣

You'll also find a good number of imported products, like Japanese canned goods and various types of honey.

They even sell products made from recycled materials.

You can find bags from the popular brand **Freitag** and wallets from a brand called **Bungkus**.

Given that tea is quite famous in this region, it wasn't surprising to see unique varieties of tea available.

There's even a section for children's toys!

This corner, where you can customize your own diary, was particularly cool. You can choose your cover, inner pages, and even the binding to create a diary that's perfectly your style.

The price for a custom diary is about ~$29 (138 MYR), which is a bit on the higher side but worth it for a personalized souvenir.

I was looking for an eco-friendly tote bag and browsed through several options, but I decided to just bookmark one for later and head out.

You can also find books related to Penang, perfect for diving deeper into the local culture.

This section was my absolute favorite! It's where you can discover **a wide array of items designed with Penang as their theme.**

Aren't these postcards just the cutest?

I'm not sure if it's unique to Penang, but there's just so much beautiful design and color here. From houses and cafes to small decor items, everything is so charming and aesthetically pleasing.

You'll find postcards depicting Malaysia's Peranakan (Chinese-Malay mixed heritage) culture, diverse food, and even local flora and fauna from the rainforest. These would make **fantastic souvenirs or gifts** for friends and family back home.

These postcards feature illustrations of Penang's main attractions and famous landmarks.

Each one is absolutely adorable! A **set of 10 postcards sells for about ~$6** (28 MYR).

There were several items in this series, featuring designs that combine Milo (a popular chocolate malt drink, fitting for Malaysia!) with cats.

I also spotted sticker packs and badges designed with various Malaysian food items.

There were so many cute things, I honestly lost track of time browsing!

Overall Thoughts

**The first floor primarily sells decor and lifestyle items, while the second floor showcases furniture.** I visited close to closing time, so I didn't get a chance to explore the furniture section.

Timeless Design also has a cafe, so you can enjoy a refreshing drink while you browse. It’s the perfect spot to relax and soak in the creative atmosphere.

If you're like me and adore unique lifestyle goods, **you absolutely have to visit!**
