As a travel blogger always on the hunt for unique experiences, I can tell you that Penang is absolutely brimming with charming cafes.

Before my trip, I spent countless hours scouring Instagram and YouTube, saving a long list of must-visit spots.

Today, I'm thrilled to share one of my top finds:

PACE Coffee, a delightful brunch cafe nestled in the heart of George Town.

PACE Coffee is conveniently located on Beach Street.

It's situated near the vibrant jetties, with Lim Jetty being the closest.

Operating Hours

Monday-Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturday-Sunday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Since they don't open in the evenings, it's best to plan an early visit to enjoy the serene atmosphere.

We made sure to arrive right at opening time!

Keep an eye out for the small sign; it's easy to miss!

A Look Inside the Cafe

Stepping inside, I was immediately captivated by the warm, inviting ambiance.

The cafe's aesthetic is absolutely picture-perfect – truly Instagram-worthy!

I couldn't stop snapping photos.

Luckily, we arrived early, and there was only one other table occupied, allowing us to capture the beauty without interruption.

The natural wood elements blend seamlessly with lush greenery, creating a comfortable and inspiring space.

I even touched the trees, and yes, they're all real!

Every corner of PACE Coffee is thoughtfully designed, which explains why it's such a highly recommended spot on social media.

Most patrons in the morning were enjoying brunch.

Though we opted for just a light morning coffee as we had plans for another meal at Teksen Restaurant.

Interestingly, out of the four other tables, we were the only Asian visitors; most seemed to be European, with a diverse age range, all savoring their brunch and coffee.

I'm already dreaming of returning to try their brunch, but with so many other cafes on my Penang list, I'm not sure when I'll make it back!😢

PACE Coffee Menu

PACE Coffee offers a delightful selection of baked goods, including cakes and croissants, alongside heartier options like burgers and various toasts.

Their beverage menu is equally diverse.

One fantastic aspect of many Penang cafes, including PACE, is the availability of oat milk or soy milk alternatives.

This is a huge plus for those of us with lactose intolerance, allowing us to enjoy a refreshing iced coffee in the morning without worry!

I noticed many guests opting for the Bagel Benedict for brunch.

While delicious, the brunch items are priced around ~$7, which isn't exactly a budget option when considering the overall cost of living in Penang.

Drink Review

Flat White (~$3)

My husband ordered the warm Flat White.

Many coffees I've tried in Penang tend to have a noticeable acidity, and while this one had a hint, it wasn't overpowering.

You could tell the baristas put great care into preparing each cup.

The milk foam was incredibly smooth, making for an overall delicious and mellow coffee.

Iced Oat Milk Latte (~$3)

I chose to upgrade my latte to oat milk, which added an extra ~$1 to the price.

As soon as it arrived, I was captivated by the beautiful presentation and couldn't stop taking photos!

They also provided a small note, which seems to vary with each order.

While perhaps not profoundly significant, receiving such a thoughtful message in the morning certainly brightened my day.

Overall Verdict

George Town is brimming with beautiful cafes, each with its own unique concept.

But if you're seeking a brunch spot with a warm, inviting, and aesthetically pleasing vibe,

I wholeheartedly recommend PACE Coffee!

It can get quite busy around lunchtime, so consider an early morning visit to enjoy a peaceful coffee and a delicious brunch.
