If you are dreaming of the ultimate Italian escape, nestled among rolling hills and endless vineyards, let me introduce you to the paradise I found in Barolo.
This is Tenuta Bussia.
I spent three unforgettable nights at this gorgeous boutique property.
It is a 5-star experience that feels like absolute heaven on earth.
True to its name, a world-class spa and outdoor pool are fully included in your stay.
Located in the heart of one of Italy's premier wine regions,
it is surrounded by incredible dining options.
It is the perfect base for exploring local wineries,
savoring authentic Piedmontese cuisine,
and fully immersing yourself in the slow Italian lifestyle.
It is a place designed for sipping, sleeping, and swimming.
The ultimate Barolo getaway!

Visiting in late July, the pool temperature was absolutely perfect.
Riding high-performance e-bikes through the rolling vineyards
under the warm Italian sun was an experience I will never forget.

in every single corner of the property.

Renting an e-bike is the absolute best way to explore the area.

The e-bikes provided are top-of-the-line with great battery life.
They handle the steep vineyard hills with ease.
They also come equipped with helmets and secure phone mounts for easy navigation.
It is worth every single penny!
📌 On-Site Winery

The estate even features its own small boutique winery,
and we were greeted with a lovely welcome pour at check-in!
With so many world-famous vineyards nearby,
we spent most of our time exploring the region,
but having an estate label was a wonderful touch.
Check-In
The hospitality here is warm and genuine.
The staff personally showed us around the estate
and curated a list of local, off-the-beaten-path restaurants
that turned out to be some of the best meals of our trip.

The Guest Rooms
With only 7 rooms on the property, privacy is guaranteed.
We were assigned Room 7—
the crown jewel and the most recently completed room.
Because there was a wedding celebration on our first night,
the hosts generously upgraded us to a larger suite.
It was an incredibly thoughtful gesture that set the tone for our stay! 😊

The exposed wood ceilings and rustic details are stunning,
embodying the perfect modern agriturismo vibe.
You can truly feel the 7 years of love and craftsmanship
poured into restoring this beautiful space.

📌 Thoughtful Touches ➕️
They provide dedicated, stylish slippers for the pool area.
As a luxury wine and spa resort,
plush robes and fresh towels are always at your disposal.

Absolutely gorgeous presentation.

📌 Thoughtful Touches ➕️
A retro SMEG espresso machine is ready in-room
for your morning caffeine fix.

Since this is a wine-centric estate,
proper glassware is readily available upon request.
By our final evening,
we had accumulated a few half-finished bottles from our vineyard tours—
perfect for a cozy, private tasting in our room!
📌 The Bathroom
A modern walk-in shower and a beautifully designed vanity.
Impeccably clean, spacious, and highly functional.

📌 Private Terrace
Step outside, and the rolling vineyards of Barolo unfold right before your eyes.

It is the dream spot to unwind with a glass of local Nebbiolo.

You can look directly down at the sparkling pool below.
The view is absolutely breathtaking...

I am already longing to go back.
The Pool
📌 Hours
The outdoor pool is open for guests to enjoy at any time.

The pool area connects seamlessly to the indoor wellness spa.

You can swim while taking in panoramic views of the Barolo vineyards.
In late July, the water temperature was absolutely perfect.
Even on slightly overcast days,
it felt warm, relaxing, and incredibly peaceful.

With only 7 rooms on-site,
we frequently had the entire pool to ourselves.
It felt like enjoying a private luxury villa!

At night, the pool lights up beautifully,
making it a magical spot to stargaze with zero light pollution.

The Spa & Wellness Center
📌 Hours
10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Tucked inside the main building
is a beautifully appointed boutique spa and sauna.
There is a dedicated sun deck,
and because of the property's small capacity,
it feels like your own private wellness sanctuary.

Soft, relaxing music plays in the background,
creating a deeply soothing atmosphere.
At the press of a button,
you can enjoy a therapeutic bubble massage in the indoor jacuzzi.

The Finnish dry sauna is spectacular.
Pouring water over the hot coals releases a wave of purifying steam,
which was incredibly rejuvenating after a long day of cycling.
They also feature a beautifully designed Turkish steam bath.

A curated selection of herbal teas and refreshing drinks is available poolside.
Even after three days, we couldn't get enough.
We snuck in one final spa session right before checkout! 😂
Breakfast
Breakfast is a beautiful spread of freshly baked pastries,
artisanal local jams, and fresh seasonal fruits.

Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious.
There are two coveted tables on the outdoor terrace.
Sipping a rich, freshly brewed Italian cappuccino
while looking out over the misty morning vineyards...
it doesn't get any better than this.

Pure magic.
Tenuta Bussia is a spectacular sanctuary
that I cannot recommend highly enough.
I will be sharing more guides to exploring Barolo soon! 😊
