A Culinary Gem in Castiglione Falletto,
Le Torri Ristorante
Hello, fellow explorers!
Today, we're diving back into a culinary gem in Castiglione Falletto, Barolo,
Le Torri: Part 2 of our delicious journey!
In my previous post, I introduced you to this amazing Barolo eatery, where you can savor a diverse array of Piedmontese dishes.
Today, I'm thrilled to share the story of my second visit!

You can find the first part of my adventure linked below:
Location
📍Le Torri
Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 10, 12060 Castiglione Falletto CN, Italy
📍 Le Torri
Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 10, 12060 Castiglione Falletto CN, Italy
It's conveniently located right next to the
Vietti Winery.
How to Make a Reservation
You can easily make reservations for Le Torri directly on their website.
They offer an English version, making the booking process a breeze.
For my first visit, I came for lunch and made a reservation beforehand.
However, on my second visit, which was in the evening,
I decided to try my luck as a walk-in.
Menu
You can also check out the menu in advance on Le Torri's website.
If you choose not to order a set course,
you must order a minimum of two dishes per person from the (starter, first, main) courses.
While there's a minimum charge,
it might feel like a slight commitment,
I found it a fantastic opportunity to try a wider variety of their incredible dishes.

The Ambiance
When I visited with a reservation,
I was seated on the charming terrace.
However, when I arrived as a walk-in,
I was shown to a lovely table inside.
Since I was a walk-in, I arrived a bit early, feeling a tad anxious about getting a spot.
Thankfully, there was a table available.
Many tables looked empty, but they were all reserved!

I was so relieved to find a table!
The restaurant was bustling with life, and the atmosphere was simply wonderful.

The Dishes We Ordered
CONTERNO FANTINO Barbera D'alba 2022
Lingua alla brace e Salsa BBQ 15 EUR
Uovo croccante, Fonduta di Parmigiano. 16 EUR
Tajarin al ragu di Fassona 16 EUR
Tagliata di Fassona in crosta di Nocclole 20 EUR
The amuse-bouche, just like my lunchtime visit,
included delightful fish-shaped cheese crisps,
and delicate mini beef tartare tarts.

After much delightful deliberation, we finally settled on a wine:
a bottle of CONTERNO FANTINO Barbera D'alba 2022.
CONTERNO FANTINO Winery is
located in the renowned Monforte d'Alba region.

Even though half-empty bottles of wine were piling up at our accommodation,
it was our last dinner,
and I just couldn't resist ordering another bottle!
Since it was our final dinner,
I really wanted to try a local wine.
Among Barolo's most iconic wines,
Barbera d'Alba struck me as a wine that's perfectly smooth
and pairs wonderfully with a meal,
so I went with this one.

[Antipasti 1]
Uovo croccante, Fonduta di Parmigiano.
Fried poached Egg, Parmesan cheese fondue
Porcini Mushrooms and black truffles
They fried a poached egg,
laid it on a bed of Parmesan cheese fondue sauce,
and topped it generously with black truffles.
Honestly, what's not to love about that combination?!

So rich and indulgent,
it was absolutely delicious!
Letorri truly excels at antipasti!

The second dish we ordered was
a bit on the unique side!
[Antipasti 2]
Lingua alla brace e Salsa BBQ
Grilled veal Tongue and BBQ sauce
Yes, it's veal tongue!

It was incredibly large
and perfectly cooked.
The plating was so beautiful and appetizing
that a French family next to us
even asked what the dish was!

It was cooked evenly throughout.
[Secondi piatti ]
Tajarin al ragu di Fassona
Tajarin is absolutely a must-try dish when you're in Barolo,
something you simply have to indulge in.
While it might seem similar to what other restaurants offer,
I distinctly remember the amazing texture of their fresh pasta...

And a sprinkle of cheese too!
[Primi piatti]
Tagliata di Fassona in crosta di Nocclole
"Sarsona" Tagliata steak in hazelnuts crust
This was the main course: a hazelnut-crusted
steak.
At first glance, I wondered if it was gyukatsu,
but the taste was completely different!

The exterior was crispy,
yet it felt more like it was coated, almost like chocolate,
and with the hazelnut crust,
it had a delightful nutty flavor and aroma.

The veal tongue steak we had earlier
was so generously portioned
that it almost felt like we ordered two steaks,
but even after all this time,
this hazelnut steak remains so memorable
— I think it was truly incredible!

We easily polished off the entire bottle of wine too.
The portions were definitely more generous than I expected!
I was so, so full after that...
Our last dinner in Barolo was simply wonderful! 💕
I wonder when I'll get to enjoy
such a belly-bursting feast of wine and exquisite dishes again.
It truly was a happy summer!!
So, that concludes my review of our final meal at Letorri.
