Vietti Barolo Winery Tour 2026: Booking & Walk-in Guide
Dreaming of a Barolo wine adventure? This guide reveals how to easily book your tour at Vietti winery and navigate other fantastic estates, even without reservations. Sip and savor Italy's finest!
How to Book Your Vietti Winery Tour
Hey there, fellow wine lovers!
Planning a trip to Barolo, Italy's iconic wine region? You're in for a treat! This guide will walk you through how to easily book your tour at the renowned Vietti winery.

Plus, I'll share some fantastic wineries I visited that I wished I'd booked in advance for their full tours, but are still worth a spontaneous stop!
Each winery in Barolo has its own unique booking system, so a little research is key! Generally, you'll find three main approaches:
1) Online booking via website
2) Email reservations
3) No reservations accepted (often for purchase only)
Luckily, Vietti makes it super simple with their online booking. Just click the link below to get started:
Booking Schedule
You can book your Vietti tour up to three months in advance on their website. From my experience, the schedule isn't usually packed solid, so booking about a month out, like we did, should be fine.
Tour times vary by experience, but I noted that the earliest starts around 9 AM and the last tour kicks off around 4:30 PM.
Website Information

Vietti offers a wonderful array of tour options, from tasting experiences focused on specific vineyards to those highlighting different grape varietals.

If you plan to visit multiple wineries, it's a great idea to diversify your tour choices so you don't hear the same explanations repeatedly.

Since Vietti was our first Barolo winery stop, we opted for the straightforward Classic Tasting (~$32). This was their shortest tour, lasting about 1.5 hours, and it was a perfect introduction!
Before our trip, things got a bit hectic, and we only managed to book Vietti before arriving in Barolo.
📌 Can you just walk into wineries?
While some high-end wineries might require reservations for everything or don't offer walk-in options, most estates in Barolo do allow for walk-in tastings and purchases, even if a full tour isn't possible without a prior booking.
Generally, if you show up without a reservation, you can still enjoy a tasting and buy some bottles, even if you miss out on the guided tour.

We decided to try our luck with walk-ins at Pira, Massolino, and GD Vajra. To our delight, everyone was incredibly friendly and passionate, offering insightful explanations and conducting fantastic tastings.
It definitely made me wish we'd had more time to spare and had booked full tours for these spots too – it would have been an even richer experience!
A fantastic perk of visiting wineries directly is the chance to purchase recent vintages that might not yet be widely available on the market.

For instance, at Pira, as of July 2026, the youngest Barolo vintage they offered was 2020.
There's typically a tasting fee, which for Barolo wines can be around ~$22 per person, given their premium price point.
💥 Want to skip the tasting fee?! 💥
If you purchase wine after your tasting, many wineries will waive the tasting fee! 😉
Considering the wines are often a bit more affordable directly from the vineyard, and you get the tasting fee deducted – it's practically a no-brainer to buy a bottle (or two)! Haha!

Here’s a quick rundown of our walk-in experiences:
1) PIRA
2) G.D. Vajra
These two wineries allowed us to enjoy a tasting and then purchase wine.
3) Massolino
4) Borgogno
At these two, we were able to purchase wine, but tastings required a prior reservation.
I truly hope this guide helps you plan your own unforgettable Barolo adventure! That wraps up today's post.
