Takamatsu Japan Itinerary 2026: Your Autumn Escape Awaits!
Love the charm of small Japanese towns? Takamatsu is your next destination! With delicious udon and a serene atmosphere, it's a personal favorite. Find affordable flight+hotel packages for September and October 2026. Discover this Japanese gem now!

Out of all the Japanese destinations, Takamatsu is one that truly captured my heart 💓.
It's not as bustling with sights as Osaka or Tokyo, nor are you constantly bumping into crowds. Yet, it's far from a place where you'll find yourself with nothing to do all day.
Enjoy delicious udon, indulge in some shopping, and even venture out to nearby islands – a 3-night, 4-day trip here flies by in an instant.
I visited in a chilly January and was thoroughly charmed; imagine how much more delightful it would be in the crisp, cool air of autumn!
That's why I'm already planning a return trip, and I've started by looking up flight and hotel prices. What I found was that there's a noticeable difference between booking flights and hotels separately versus an Airtel package.
If you're currently debating your international travel plans for September or October 2026, or if Takamatsu is on your radar, make sure to read this entire article to snag the best deals! 🙏🏻
1. Why Takamatsu is Perfect for a Cool September/October Getaway

One of the main reasons I loved Takamatsu is how effortlessly simple the travel experience is.
Getting from the airport to the city is a breeze, and all the major attractions are conveniently close. Add to that the tranquil and relaxed ambiance unique to small Japanese cities.
<Relaxation, Serenity, Healing>
If these are the goals for your next trip, Takamatsu is truly unmatched.

For a 3-night, 4-day trip, sticking solely to the city center might feel a bit short. I highly recommend dedicating one day to a side trip to nearby areas like Kotohira, Naoshima, or Shodoshima.

I spent a day exploring Kotohira, and it felt like discovering a charming small town within a small town.
The calm and refined atmosphere was absolutely perfect for my taste!

And of course, you can't talk about Takamatsu without mentioning udon.
As the birthplace of Sanuki Udon, there are countless fantastic restaurants. Even at famous spots, a bowl can cost as little as ~$2, and even with generous toppings, you'll still spend less than ~$7.
I still dream of Takamatsu udon... it's truly unforgettable! :)

Whether you prefer a relaxing trip with minimal plans or a packed itinerary exploring all day,
Takamatsu offers both, which is why I constantly recommend it to everyone.
2. Flight and Hotel Prices for a 3-Night, 4-Day Trip (October 22-25, 2026) if Booked Separately

Based on departure on October 22nd and return on October 25th, 2026:
The lowest fare on Air Seoul is around ~$277.
For two adults, flights alone would be approximately ~$555.

For hotels, I checked prices for Comfort Hotel, where I've stayed before and was very satisfied.
The lowest price for 3 nights is around ~$336.
For 2 adults,
flights + hotel = approximately ~$898.
Looking at these numbers, booking separately might seem reasonable.
However, I also checked the prices for Air & Hotel packages, just in case.
3. How Much Can You Save with an Air & Hotel Package?

For a 3-night, 4-day package departing on October 22nd, featuring Air Seoul flights and a city hotel,
the price per adult is ~$474.

Currently, during the promotion period, if you book by September 8th, 2026, you can get a 10% discount.
This brings the price down to around ~$423 per person.
For 2 adults,
flights + hotel = approximately ~$847.
This is about ~$51 cheaper than booking separately.
For the exact same dates, flights, and 3-night itinerary, booking as a package is significantly more affordable.

While ~$51 might not seem like a huge amount,
Takamatsu's cost of living is lower than other Japanese cities, meaning that ~$51 could buy you about 10 bowls of delicious udon!
Use your savings to enjoy more udon or splurge on some shopping at Don Quijote or Aeon Mall! ‼️

An Air & Hotel package, as the name suggests, simply bundles flights and hotels for a discounted price.
There's no guide, no fixed shopping itinerary, and your travel plans are 100% up to you.
If you want to enjoy a budget-friendly independent trip,
there's no reason not to choose this option!

Accommodation will be assigned from popular hotels like Coco Hotel, Comfort Hotel, or JR Clement Inn Hyogomachi!
All of these options have high satisfaction rates, so you'll be happy with whichever one you get!
