After snagging my flight tickets to Takamatsu,
my next big decision was figuring out the perfect spot to stay in Takamatsu.
I admit, I was a bit late to the booking game,
so many of the most popular hotels in Takamatsu
along the main streets were already fully booked.

That's how I stumbled upon
Takamatsu Park Hotel, and honestly,
it turned out to be close to the main bustling areas
and surprisingly quiet, which I ended up loving! So, I'm excited to share my review.
✅ Kawaramachi Station (Airport Limousine stop): 7-minute walk
✅ Takamatsu Shopping Center: 5-minute walk
✅ Ferry Terminal: 19 minutes by public transport, 25-minute walk
✅ Two amazing udon restaurants nearby

I'll cover everything from the room and lobby ambiance
to the location and amenities, all based on my direct experience at Takamatsu Park Hotel.

01 Where to Stay in Takamatsu,
Finding Your Perfect Spot
Takamatsu, being a charming smaller city in Japan,
isn't sprawling, which means
if you pick your accommodation location wisely,
getting around to all the main spots is a breeze.
I even walked to the ferry terminal,
taking my time to enjoy the Takamatsu sights,
and it felt like no time at all! 🙂

Accommodation options in Takamatsu generally fall into these categories:
1️⃣ Between Takamatsu Station and Kawaramachi Station
2️⃣ Shodoshima & Naoshima
3️⃣ Shikoku's Northernmost Coast
4️⃣ Around Takamatsu Airport
Honestly, most travelers
tend to book hotels between Takamatsu Station and Kawaramachi Station.
✔ Takamatsu Station | → | Easy access to other regions, near ferry terminal |
✔ Kawaramachi Station | → | Near shopping centers |
✔ Ritsurin Garden | → | For Ritsurin Garden lovers |
All three of these areas
are conveniently served by the Takamatsu Airport Limousine bus,
making travel seamless.

I personally chose a spot **near Kawaramachi** because it's close to the shopping centers,
boasts a ton of delicious udon spots,
and it's easy to reach both Takamatsu Station and Ritsurin Garden from there.
It felt like the perfect base, so I opted for Takamatsu Park Hotel in the Kawaramachi area.
📍 Takamatsu Station
1 Hamanocho, Takamatsu, Kagawa 760-0011, Japan
📍 Kawaramachi
1 Chome, Tokiwacho, Takamatsu, Kagawa 760-0054, Japan
📍 Ritsurin Koen Station
3 Chome-6 Ritsurincho, Takamatsu, Kagawa 760-0073, Japan
📍 Takamatsu Park Hotel
11-1 Fukudamachi, Takamatsu, Kagawa 760-0048, Japan
02 Downtown in 5 Minutes,
Kawaramachi Station in 8!
The Takamatsu hotel where I stayed
is about an 8-minute walk from Kawaramachi Station, where I got off the airport limousine.
While it's not literally right outside the station,
the path is flat with no hills, just paved concrete,
so it was incredibly easy to walk with my luggage.

And getting to the **main bustling area**, packed with fantastic restaurants and shopping centers,
took only a 5-minute walk!
I found myself wandering back and forth constantly, haha.
Most Takamatsu hotels, naturally,
are situated along the main roads for easy access and transit,
but Takamatsu Park Hotel isn't on one of those huge, bustling thoroughfares.
The area around it is wonderfully quiet, which I actually ended up loving even more!

And I ended up **discovering two absolutely delicious udon spots**ㅠㅠㅠ
I usually prefer to find places without checking out other people's blog posts,
and I stumbled upon these udon spots with **Google ratings of ★4.4 and ★4.2**!
I'll definitely feature them in a future post!ㅠㅠ💚
03 Clean and Quiet, Right from the Lobby:
Takamatsu Park Hotel
From the moment I first stepped into the hotel,
it felt incredibly clean and well-maintained overall.

And get this, check-in was handled by a character hotelier
and self-check-in! Whoa!
This must be the famous Japanese charm!☆

Since we arrived before the official check-in time (3 PM),
we were able to store our luggage in the **luggage boxes** inside
and head out.

On the first floor, you'll find a **restroom** and a **laundry room**,
and even the hallways are sparkling clean, aren't they? ✨

What really stood out about Takamatsu Park Hotel was
the sheer number of tables in the ground floor common area.

While there's a shared kitchen where you can prepare meals,
there's also a connected space that operates as a **bookstore**, so
it's a perfect spot for reading or getting some work done!
(It would be great for anyone on a **workation** too!)

On the first floor, you'll also find **vending machines** and **blankets**,
as well as **amenities** like **towels, robes, toothbrushes, combs, etc.**,
which are separately provided.

On the second floor, though it's small,
there's even a gym! ❕
(A smoking room too!)

04 Double Room for Two
I was assigned a **double room** on the 7th floor.

While it wasn't a huge room for two people,
it also **wasn't incredibly small for a Japanese accommodation**!

Takamatsu doesn't have many tall buildings around,
so the city view is refreshingly open and lovely, isn't it?

There's an air purifier in the room,
and a deodorizer is also provided,
which I found thoughtful and really nice!

And the bathroom!
Seriously, for Japan,
it's not small at all! 😆

The hairdryer worked perfectly,
and there were plenty of towels too! :)

Having power outlets by the bed was a huge plus!
(You know that a 220V adapter is essential
for your Japan trip, right?)

easily accessible on foot.
