Hey there, fellow travelers!
On our recent trip to Gyeongju, we decided to try something super fun and unique beyond just exploring the sights and savoring local delicacies.
It was a Gyeongju Hanbok photoshoot!
My husband and I actually looked pretty great in hanbok for our wedding photos, so we thought, "Why not do it again?"
This is our review of Studio Cho, a fantastic spot in Gyeongju where you can rent hanbok and even get a professional photoshoot done! :>

2. Gyeongju Hanbok Studio Interior & Hanbok Types
One of the best things about Gyeongju's Studio Cho is that they only book one team per photoshoot session. This means you get to enjoy the studio all to yourselves without any crowds, ensuring a truly private and comfortable experience!

My husband and I had the entire spacious and pleasant studio to ourselves.
Even though it was already sunny and warm in Gyeongju in late April, the studio was comfortably air-conditioned, making our experience very pleasant.

Take a peek at the variety of Gyeongju hanbok available for rent!
Perhaps because Gyeongju wasn't the capital during the Joseon Dynasty, the studio primarily offers Silla or Goryeo-era attire and fusion hanbok, rather than strictly traditional Joseon styles.

Beyond the hanbok, they also have all the props you could need for your photoshoot, like elegant flower shoes for women, traditional Taesahye shoes for men, Norigae ornaments, and Daenggi hair ribbons.

They even had hair accessories, styling tools, and cosmetics! I was so impressed.
The owner helped us change into our hanbok, and then gave us some time to use these items to style our hair.

I honestly hadn't even thought about my hair, assuming it would just work itself out, haha. But Studio Cho, a Gyeongju hanbok photoshoot studio, had everything prepared, so I could even get my hair styled perfectly! 🤩

After we were all dressed and our hair was styled, we couldn't resist a quick mirror selfie!
Now, let's head into the main studio area!
3. Our Gyeongju Hanbok Photoshoot Experience at Studio Cho

Inside Studio Cho, there's a white cyclorama backdrop, which is where our hanbok photoshoot took place.
Honestly, before we went, my husband was joking that he'd melt if we had an outdoor hanbok shoot in the heat, haha. But shooting indoors in a cool, comfortable environment meant his expressions were great, and the whole session went smoothly! 🤣🤣

We started with individual shots before moving on to some lovely couple photos.
The poses for hanbok photoshoots are pretty standard, so the photographer (who is also the owner) guided us through everything. It was super easy to follow along! 📷
We could even check how the photos were turning out on the monitor throughout the session.
4. Gyeongju Hanbok Photoshoot Tip: Cheomseongdae Outdoor Rental!
Here's a special perk of Studio Cho: even if you book a photoshoot, it also doubles as a hanbok rental, so you can do a quick outdoor photoshoot too!
While the photographer was organizing and doing some initial color correction on our photos, we were able to step out in our hanbok for a bit.
Cheomseongdae is only about a 3-minute walk away, so we could capture some beautiful photos with its lush, green backdrop! 🩷

Let's go, adventurers!

The tulips were almost at the end of their season, but we still managed to take some lovely photos in the flower fields!
And with traditional Hanok buildings dotted everywhere in Gyeongju, wearing hanbok felt like stepping back in time. It was truly magical! ㅎㅅㅎ

As we walked around in our hanbok, other tourists were so delighted! They kept saying, "Oh, you look so beautiful!" and even offered to take our pictures. We had three different groups snap photos for us! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Thank you so much! 🙏

After returning to the studio, we selected the photos we wanted for final retouching. Then, we changed back into our clothes and waited while they printed out our beautiful pictures.
It's truly the perfect way to create a special memory during your Gyeongju trip, isn't it?

These are the final retouched photos we received via email!
I don't like overly-edited photos, so I was really pleased that the retouching was just right – it truly captured our essence. 🩷
That concludes our review of Studio Cho Gyeongju Hanbok Rental's Premium Package! :>
