I'm Yeonrok, your travel blogger (⌯'ᢦ'⌯) This time, I'm bringing you a review of a place where I had a wonderfully relaxing stay during my Gyeongju trip: BonghwangINN Bonghwang Mansion 2! Hehe. This is a 100% genuine, paid-for-by-me, no-ads-whatsoever review, so I'll tell you everything exactly as it is! Its location was absolutely perfect, allowing us to walk to both Gyeongju Central Market and Hwanglidan-gil! With attractions and delicious eateries all around, everything was incredibly convenient! I've covered everything from room conditions to tips for booking cheaply, and even a breakfast review, so make sure to read to the very end! |

1. Location & Check-in/Lobby

Bonghwang Mansion 2 is located on Jungang-ro in Gyeongju, making it incredibly accessible to everything!
Since I traveled in mid-August when it was scorching hot, I literally couldn't walk for more than 5 minutes, so we mainly used taxis. Here's a quick tip for you...
Unlike Seoul, Gyeongju taxis often apply a "complex surcharge". It's a good idea to refer to the picture above!
Even though Gyeongju city center might look small, it's actually quite sprawling, so these surcharges can be applied more often than you'd expect!
Also, the prices you see on apps like Kakao Taxi don't always include these surcharges, so please double-check carefully!!!! Otherwise, you might end up with a huge taxi bill....
That's why I highly recommend taking the bus when coming from Gyeongju Station to the accommodation!!! There's a bus that stops right in front of the hotel, and the route from Gyeongju Station to the hotel is within a surcharge zone, so taxi fares can be quite high ㅠㅠ
From the accommodation, Hwanglidan-gil is easily walkable! And taxi fares to attractions like Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, and Gyeongju National Museum, were quite reasonable.

This is the lobby area you see right after entering! I could easily find key Gyeongju city tour courses and information at a glance, hehe. Directions to the KTX station and bus terminal were also kindly provided.
Even recommended walking course durations were detailed, which was a huge help when planning my itinerary!
And best of all, there's a convenience store on the first floor connected directly to the accommodation, which was incredibly, incredibly convenient! Not having to go far to buy things at night was absolutely the best, hehe.
Just a heads-up: the convenience store isn't open 24 hours; it operates until midnight, so keep that in mind!
2. Inside the Room
Now, let me show you the inside of the room I stayed in! We were in room 509!
The room we booked was the 'Queen Bed Room'
When you step into the room, you'll find three beds laid out like this!
It felt like two Super Single beds and one Queen bed..!
It's a room that can accommodate up to 4 people, and there were indeed four of us staying, but we didn't experience any discomfort!
With so many outlets on the wall,
it was great for charging phones or working on laptops!
Oh! Right when we got to the room, slippers were ready for us,
making our feet super comfy as we moved around! haha
The bathroom was also spotless!
With beige tiles and even a curtain to separate the shower area~!
It was spacious and comfortable,
Amenities included
shampoo, body wash, and conditioner!
And the water pressure was fantastic!
On the sink, plenty of towels
were also prepared for us. haha
But if you needed more, you could
simply grab them from the hallway!
In one corner of the room, there was a small round table and two chairs,
which was perfect for a quick snack
or having a cozy chat!
With this much food laid out,
it was totally enough to enjoy a girls' night...^^
Though, looking at it now, the table seems a bit overwhelmed
hahahahaha
Inside the fridge, there were four bottles of mineral water!
On the table, there was even a tissue box, a remote control, and a basket!
Every little item was
neatly organized,
making everything super convenient to use!
The hair dryer was also neatly organized inside a basket.
The dryer's power was pretty decent~
Just a heads-up, by each bedside,
there were two-prong outlets for every single bed!
This was such a huge plus!
No more charging worries – super convenient, haha!
Right outside the door in the hallway,
there was a self-service system for amenities and towels,
and personally, I found this self-service arrangement so incredibly convenient, haha!
It was great to just grab exactly what you needed, no more, no less!
However, personally, I did notice that the air conditioner seemed to have quite a bit of dustㅠㅠ
A friend with sensitive airways
struggled a little with it...
Otherwise, I was truly so incredibly satisfied!
Tip for Booking Affordably!
Here's a tip for booking affordably!!
To book this accommodation at a low price,
after doing a bit of online digging, I found...
On platforms like Yeogi Eottae or nol,
it seemed like bookings were blocked..?
So, when it came to booking through reservation sites,
Booking.com and Agoda were the only two options...!
And between those two, Agoda was significantly cheaper!!!!!

Prices can vary a lot depending on
the coupons you have or your travel dates..!
3. Facilities _ Laundry Service
And to the right of the lobby on the first floor,
they offer a laundry service!
Detergent, fabric softener were all available,
and they even had laundry baskets, an iron, and an ironing board.
It seemed like a really great option for anyone
who needed to do laundry in a pinch!
4. Breakfast
Next up, the breakfast review!
Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM!
This is the breakfast area,
and it had a cozy and neat atmosphere!
Fresh fruit and
ham, salad!
This is the toast corner!
Bread, jam, and butter were
all perfectly laid out, haha!
Milk, soy milk, juice, etc.
There were various drinks available too!
And cereal too, haha!
Coffee and tea were also provided!
I had a simple meal like this,
but what was really surprising about this accommodation was...
the incredibly high percentage of foreign guests!!!!
It felt like, during our stay,
everyone except our group was a foreigner!!
5. Overall Review
The location was great, and overall, it was a very satisfying stay!
You could say there was nothing bad about this place..!?
There were also plenty of delivery food options nearby,
I had a wonderfully comfortable stay! Haha.
By the way, that's Pizza Etang's Dal Pizza (Moon Pizza) and
Gyeongju Snow Crab Gangjeong!
The Dal Pizza was a bit of a letdown, though...
(But that Gyeongju Snow Crab Gangjeong? OMG, absolutely divine!
A hundred times tastier than even Sokcho Dakgangjeong!)

It's difficult to book through Yeogieottae or nol. You can book through Booking.com and Agoda. Based on a twin room in September 2026, Agoda was significantly cheaper than Booking.com.
Gyeongju taxis may apply complex surcharge rates, and Kakao Taxi app prices might not reflect these surcharges. Since the route from Gyeongju Station to the accommodation is within a surcharge zone, taking a bus can help save on taxi fares.
The 'Queen Bedroom' can accommodate up to 4 people and provides 3 beds (feeling like 2 super single beds and 1 queen bed). All beds have a dual outlet conveniently located by the headboard.
The convenience store connected to the 1st floor of the accommodation operates until midnight. To the right of the lobby, a laundry service is provided, fully equipped with detergent, fabric softener, laundry baskets, an iron, and an ironing board.
