My second visit to the Songdo Beer Festival, following last year's!
After an early dinner, we **arrived around 6:30 PM**.
There was already quite a line to get in,
but after 7 PM, that line became several times longer...
Seems we did well by going a bit early!
The first day of the 2026 Songdo Beer Festival,
and I'm here to share my review!
Last year, admission was free,
and for ~$14 for a Beer Pass,
you could enjoy unlimited beer.
**This year, however, there's an admission fee.**

Since it's ~$7 if you book online in advance,
**if you're going anyway, online advance booking is the way to go!**
**Online advance tickets can be purchased on NOL.**
**To drink unlimited beer,**
**you'll need to purchase a VIP table.**
It can accommodate **up to 4 people**.

If you plan on drinking a lot of beer
or want to comfortably enjoy the performances, a VIP table is a better option.
You can also stand directly in front of the stage,
whereas the general admission area is cordoned off with fences,
meaning you'll have to watch the performances on screens.
Conversely, if you just want to casually browse around,
general admission is perfectly fine!
Well, we have... a beer monster at home,
and I didn't want to wander around without a spot,
so I bought a VIP table with a couple of friends.
We booked through NOL,
but if you happen not to have booked in advance,
they say **VIP purchases are also possible on-site**,
so it's worth checking if you go spontaneously on the day.
For VIP, it was convenient because you could **choose your seats in advance**,
just like booking movie theater seats.
Also, on-site, instead of the regular waiting line,
you get your wristband at a **dedicated VIP ticket booth**,
so there's **no need to stand in a long queue**,
and **immediate entry is another advantage**.
It seemed like the back of the VIP section was better.
The stage is big, so the **front seats are a bit too close**.
I recommend the seats marked in red!!
There's one beer booth on the right and one on the left.
You can get **unlimited Terra beer only**.
It's possible to take multiple glasses at once,
but **having only one type of beer was a bit disappointing....**
It would be great if this kind of information was available on the booking page.
My husband enjoyed 9 beers at this year's festival 🤣
The VIP tables also come with snacks,
and those thin potato chips were quite delicious.
We took a stroll around the booths,
and there was an amazing variety of beers and food.
A cup of beer usually costs ~$3.
The Terra Sparkling Fruit Beer also looked delicious.
For food, Gil-gamja (a street potato snack) and Dakgangjeong (sweet and sour crispy chicken) were very popular,
and we tried the Gil-gamja and some chicken skewers.
The chicken skewers were the old-school kind – really long and substantial!
Gil-gamja seems to be a trendy(?) snack these days.
Made with potato starch, it has a chewy, tteok-like texture,
perfect for picking at one by one.
The portion was quite generous, and at ~$3, it was great value for money.
The sausage Gil-gamja felt like a chewy hotdog.
There were also carnival games where you aim for prizes,
and various events, so it's a great idea to participate in a few.
Before the performance, I joined an event for 'Epi', a tumbler brand,
located to the front left, facing the stage.
And I ended up winning first place! 🤩

The main stage featured YB.
The great thing about the VIP table seats is the ability to stand right in front of the stage,
meaning you can watch the performance up close.
The standing zone was also exclusively for VIPs,
so it wasn't crowded and felt comfortably spacious.
There was so much room....
Plus, the entire area was fenced off,
meaning if you weren't in a VIP spot, you'd pretty much have to watch the concert on a screen.
The performance was originally scheduled for 40 minutes,
but they played for a full hour! Their stage experience really shows.
The live performance? Absolutely incredible, of course.
They played classics like 'I Am a Butterfly,' 'I Guess I Loved You,' 'I'll Forget You,' and many more.
It was so much fun to hear those nostalgic songs!
Because the performance ran longer than planned,
the fireworks display started right after the concert, without a moment's delay!
After enjoying the fireworks,
your day at the Songdo Beer Festival comes to a perfect end.
There was supposed to be a DJ performance too, but
it seems like it got canceled because the other performances ran long... haha.
✅ Operates normally even on rainy days
It actually rained on the day I visited,
but it stopped by 5 PM, and the festival proceeded as planned.
It seems like they don't cancel for just a shower,
so even if there's a rain forecast, you probably don't need to worry too much.
✅ If it's rainy, definitely bring a towel
The chairs and tables get wet,
so it's convenient to have something to quickly wipe them down before sitting.
✅ Rain Boots Recommended
If you visit during or after rain, rain boots are highly recommended.
The ground can turn muddy...
If the ground isn't completely dry,
your legs or pants might get covered in mud.
✅ For general admission, bring a mat
While there are regular tables inside,
seating is limited and often far from the main stage.
There can be competition for spots,
so I recommend arriving early to snag a good spot.
✅ Bring plenty of wet wipes and tissues
You'll surprisingly often need to wipe your hands while enjoying beer and food.
✅ It's often hot and humid
If you bring a portable fan or a hand fan,
you can enjoy yourself much more comfortably.
✅ Public Transportation Recommended
There's no specific parking information provided,
and surrounding roads get very congested during the festival.
It's much more stress-free to travel by subway or bus.
That combination of cool beer + live performance + fireworks on a summer night?
Absolutely irresistible!
