Gangneung is a beloved East Sea destination, cherished throughout all four seasons.
You can enjoy everything from the stunning blue sea and charming cafes,
to fresh seafood,
breathtaking sunrises,
and scenic driving routes.
Jumunjin, in particular, is renowned within Gangneung for its
exceptionally beautiful coastal scenery.
With Yeongjin Beach (famous as a filming location for 'Goblin'),
Jumunjin Breakwater,
and refreshing coastal roads all nearby,
it was absolutely perfect for a day trip.
If it's your first time in Gangneung, choosing accommodation in Jumunjin
makes getting around easy and sightseeing efficient.
🏨 SL Hotel Jumunjin, Gangneung
The place I chose for this trip was SL Hotel Gangneung Jumunjin.
The biggest advantage was the ocean-view room, offering a panoramic view of the sea,
and the room itself was much more spacious than I expected, allowing for a truly comfortable and unconfined stay.
The actual room felt even more spacious than in the photos!
The beds were generous, and there was plenty of space even with multiple suitcases
spread out, making it perfectly sized for
couples and family trips alike.
The staff's guidance was especially friendly and helpful.
From check-in to how to use the amenities,
they explained everything in detail, so even on my first visit,
it was easy to navigate.
When traveling, even a small act of kindness can significantly impact your satisfaction with accommodation,
and SL Hotel really impressed me in that regard.
SL Hotel Swimming Pools🏊♂️
It was great to see that the infinity pool and a regular pool are operated separately,
so you can choose whichever suits your preference!
The infinity pool is perfect for taking photos while gazing at the sea,
while the regular pool seemed more comfortable for a relaxed swim.
I felt that it would satisfy not only couples
but also families traveling with children.

- Operating Hours: 4:00 PM ~ 12:00 AM (Daily)
- Minors, even accompanied by a guardian, are not permitted
It's strictly operated for adults, and they sometimes host pool parties and DJ parties, so definitely check their website once your visit dates are set!
Family Pool
- No age restrictions
- Ages 14 and up: ~$23 / 36 months ~ 13 years old: ~$15
- Located on the 5th floor of the hotel
- Operating Period: July 1, 2026 ~ August 31, 2026
- Operating Hours: 9:00 AM ~ 7:00 PM (Daily)
A minor drawback was that
the pool doesn't provide hotel towels, requiring guests to bring their own,
and there are no individual lockers available!
Nevertheless, I really wanted to visit the infinity pool,
and while I couldn't enjoy the pools due to my travel schedule and the weather,
I urge all of you to definitely use them if you visit!
🚗 Parking was so convenient!
If you're traveling by car, parking is super important, right?
The SL Hotel has parking available from the 2nd to the 4th floor,
so there was plenty of space.
It was easy to move around even when it was raining or we had a lot of luggage,
and the path from parking to our room was straightforward.
Since traveling around Gangneung often involves a lot of driving,
I felt this aspect was a significant advantage!

The SL Hotel is also conveniently located near Gangneung's most iconic tourist spots.
🚘 Yeongjin Beach (Goblin Filming Location)
This spot is famous as a filming location for the drama 'Goblin',
and it's a comfortable distance to get to by car.
With its beautiful blue sea and charming breakwater,
it's also known as a fantastic photo spot.
🚘 Jumunjin Breakwater
This is a quintessential tourist spot in Jumunjin.
It's perfect for a walk, allowing you to feel close to the ocean,
and you can witness truly stunning scenery
during sunrise or sunset.
🚘 Jumunjin Fish Market
It's a wonderful place to enjoy fresh sashimi and seafood,
and if you're planning a food tour in Gangneung,
this spot is absolutely unmissable!
Thanks to the convenient car access,
it was a great location for exploring several attractions
in a single day.

Yeongjin Beach (the 'Goblin' filming location) and Jumunjin Breakwater
were also close by car, making the sightseeing route incredibly convenient and enjoyable.
